Oxygen and nutrient mists are to be released into the containment chamber every two hours. Following Incident 149-1, should any SCP-149 entities breach containment, Protocol -42-Charlie is to be enacted on any and all personnel contaminated, per the directive of O5-12. Description: SCP-149 is a mosquito and its associated retrovirus (henceforth SCP-149-A) capable of regenerating human cells into mosquito fertilized eggs. When SCP-149 feeds, SCP-149-A is directly injected into the bloodstream. SCP-149-A acts rapidly on the cell nucleus, deforming the DNA. The first set of altered cells are highly similar to cysts and are concentrated in the inner lining of the esophagus and sinuses. However, upon dissection, these "cysts" were found to contain a large number of SCP-149 larvae, with the cysts acting as protective casings against external forces. SCP-149 will complete its maturation cycle within several hours; by the time the subject is able to feel discomfort, the first generation of SCP-149 has fully developed within the subject.
