SCP-151 - A Painting

Item #: SCP-151 Object Class: Euclid Special Containment Procedures: SCP-151 is to be kept in a locked container, covered with an opaque cloth. The key to the containment chamber is to be held by the on-site commander when SCP-151 is not being researched. When SCP-151 is being researched, it may be kept in a locked laboratory, but it is to be covered when not in use. Description: SCP-151 is an oil painting, 1 meter x 1.3 meters (3 feet x 4 feet), apparently rendered from the perspective of someone underwater. There are no initial effects on subjects viewing the painting. However, within 24 hours, subjects' breathing will become increasingly labored, eventually leading to the subject's death. Autopsies have shown the subject's lungs to be filled with seawater. Attempts to medically intervene to stop the drowning process have proven successful in prolonging the subject's life, but have been unable to stop or reverse the condition.
