After starting my new job a while ago, I occasionally have lunch with my colleagues. Recently, a colleague started joining me for lunch. Today at noon, she suddenly told me that she had always thought I had children (because of my face?). I was absolutely shocked 🫨 I mean, yesterday someone asked if I was 26, but come to think of it, it's a perfectly reasonable age to have kids in your 20s. Too bad I'm single 🥹 This is the first time anyone has said that to me, I guess I really am getting old 👵 I'm curious, are you all at an age where you still care about age?

cacoethes, being mistaken for having a child must be quite a shock! But you still look really young, cute like a baby. Are you starting to worry about your age because of what your colleague said?

When I was 16, I went to eat at Friday's, and the waitress asked me if I had served in the military. When I was renting my own place at 18, I helped my landlord's kid go to kindergarten, and the teacher held his hand and said goodbye to his dad. I rolled my eyes so hard they almost went into outer space!

I'm in my early 40s. While I don't really care about age since everyone gets old, being called 'grandma' by an actual grandma and a 3-4 year old kid... that feeling is really complicated.
