It took some courage to reconnect with an old classmate😆

After two days of wind and rain, the weather finally cleared up on Sunday, so I went out for steak with my family🥩 As I was going to get some salad bar items, I unexpectedly saw a junior high school classmate! Actually, I had bumped into her at another restaurant a few years ago. Back then, she had her young son with her, but the timing and seating weren't ideal, and I hesitated to approach her, so we ended up missing the chance. This time, when I saw her again, her son had grown up quite a bit~ Since we hadn't been in touch since graduating from junior high, it had been about 15 years since we last spoke. I felt a bit shy about approaching her to say hello🤣 So, I first went back to my seat and told my family, "That looks like my junior high classmate!" As we were chatting, maybe I gained some courage(?), and I finally decided to go over and talk to her😆 Fortunately, she remembered me too and even called out my name directly! We chatted for a bit about our recent lives and jobs, and it wasn't as awkward as I had imagined. Actually, when we were in school, we weren't in the same circle, but we weren't on bad terms either. It's just that I remember myself in junior high as being in that 'chuunibyou' phase and sometimes a bit clueless, so facing an old classmate made me feel awkward about potentially digging up old embarrassing memories🤣 Although we didn't exchange contact information in the end, I was really happy to be able to catch up like that. And it's pretty amazing that we still recognized each other after 15 years, right?🤣 In conclusion, I'm very glad I mustered up the courage to say hello today😁
