Yo-kai Watch Oni Time: Are you okay with it or do you struggle with it?
I really struggle with it.

You can play like it was back then again!
I downloaded it because a friend recommended it. Honestly, I wasn't too keen because I thought it was just replaying content I'd already done. But once I started, even though the content itself is the same, it brought back memories of when I used to play Yo-kai Watch. Things like, 'I remember naming this character this way,' or 'I didn't like this Yo-kai back then, but I love them now!' made it fun to get excited with my friends. The only downside is that the lack of online battles made me really sad.

The 'Akkanbe Bagel' is kinda confusing, right?
I mean, it looks like a hamburger, but its race is 'bread'.

How far did your Yo-kai Watch get?
Anyone who made it to Y Academy is seriously impressive. I only got to level 3, by the way. Makes you realize how amazing Pokémon's power is!

I think there were better names for the new Yo-kai Watch title.
Yo-kai Watch 2: Hadō, huh... (My info is late). Since it followed names like Ganso and Honke, which sound like store names, I thought a name like that would have been good. (Shintake is Rakugo, though). Originally, the meanings are: Ganso: The first person to start something. Honke: The first person to sell something. Shintake: The performer who goes last (the headliner) in a Yose (traditional Japanese stand-up comedy theatre). I think there were better names like 'Honpo' (main store/publisher), 'Rouho' (long-established store), 'Kemont' (head of a school/family), or 'Souke' (head family). 'Honpo' probably wouldn't work because it's too similar to 'Honke'. As for the meanings: Honpo: A store that manufactures and sells. Often the first. Rouho: A store with a long history. Not necessarily the first. Kemont: The highest authority in traditional arts. Souke: The direct main family line from ancestors. If we look at other Japanese traditional performing arts, there are cooler words like 'Yokozuna' (grand champion in sumo), 'Shūmei' (succession of a title/name), or 'Kagura' (Shinto music and dance), aren't there? I think a title like 'Yo-kai Watch 2: Kemont' or something that implies regaining honor for the 'Whatever Side' (the part I dropped out of) would be perfect. Like, 'This is the real Yo-kai Watch!' 【Reference】 Hadō: Ruling people by military force.

Remake of 2 is coming
Guess I'll just soak in the nostalgia and wait for the announcement of 2's release date. I think it'll come out in 2028!

Theory: The American Yo-kai's English names are also translated directly.
As a result of verification, Usapyon (USApyon) Miss Teri (Miss Terry) Oh Bah Gah (Over Gaa) Sing Kong (Sing Kong) Steaking (Steaking) Tomnyan (Tomnyan) Hack king (Hacking) oridjinn (Origin)※ ※Technically Origin. djinn refers to a spirit. There were only these 8. I guess it's difficult. Yo-kai Watch's naming methods often involve wordplay, but most of the American Yo-kai are based on Japanese wordplay. Unbelievaboy! and OMGater were borderline, so I didn't include them. What was interesting to research was that Tsubuyaki and Treet were translated as Treetter and Retreeter, respectively. The evolved names in the Japanese version became the pre-evolved names in the English version. Also, Nyanminator was Terminyanator. Gorgeous Ambassador was directly translated as Gorgeous Ambassador. However, I thought the translations of Pintocorn to cornfused and Karikari Bacon to Salty Bacon were clever.
