We ate out for dinner, and on the way back, we stopped by Chateraise. My mom and sister bought a lemon soufflé cheesecake because it was half off. There was more lemon peel in it than I expected, but it wasn't too bitter and it was delicious 😊 Chateraise cakes used to not be very good 😅, but they've gotten quite tasty over time, so I go there for cakes sometimes ꉂꉂ(*σˊᗜˋ)σ As a resident of Fukuoka Prefecture, I personally believe it's because Sakaeya became a subsidiary!(´艸`*)

This is the person who was eating chicken paitan ramen the other day. I had a day the other day where I could leave work early, so I decided to go for ramen. After debating whether to go for the chicken paitan again or try a different shop's sea bream paitan, I ended up going to a sea bream paitan ramen place. It's a sea bream paitan shop, but I prefer sea bream clear broth, so I had a delicious bowl of rich sea bream broth that was still light enough to drink to the last drop🍜 The accompanying sea bream skin was super crispy and made a great snack. It's pre-grilled thoroughly, so even when soaked in the soup, there's no fishy smell at all; it's just enjoyable for the textural difference😋 The oyster ajillo-style oil on the side for changing the flavor 🦪 I also love this, as it adds richness and umami. It's delicious even eaten on its own. The sea bream rice, ordered as a set, had big chunks of sea bream, a great aroma, and the rice grains had a firm texture. The flavor-changing oil goes well with this too✨️ I want to post about happy meals again sometime…🤤

This is from last week... When I went to Kyoto with a friend, we decided we wanted to eat pike conger for lunch and made a reservation. Pike conger tempura and obanzai set meal 😋 It was a restaurant specializing in Kyoto duck, and while there were other tempting options like Kyoto duck shabu-shabu, I stuck to my plan! The pike conger tempura was crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and absolutely delicious.

Yesterday was Obon, wasn't it? ♪ This coffee jelly I tried it for the first time and it was delicious. The second pic is also jelly 🥰

The other day, after work, I got a craving for ramen and went to a shop. It was a chicken paitan (creamy chicken broth) place. Looking at the menu, there was a whole lineup of chicken dishes. I ordered several dishes like at an izakaya, and finished with ramen 😋 It was a shame the chicken rice was sold out... I'll have to go again someday.

We took a 2-day, 1-night family trip to a hot spring inn, aiming to go just before the Obon holiday. After sightseeing in Kanazawa, we stayed at Yoshida-ya Sannokaku in Yamashiro Onsen, Kaga. The private open-air bath fed by the hot spring source was great, of course, but I was truly impressed by how delicious the food was. Photo 1 is the 'Seven Kinds of Sashimi Platter' (for 4 people). By popular vote, the yellowtail slices were the winner. Photo 2 is the 'Sea Bream Head Stew'. The seasoning was a bit rich, and the cheek meat was delicious. The rice was also great. It was locally grown 'Inochi no Ichi' rice, a super large-grained variety, cooked in a traditional cauldron. I had seconds, and with the chazuke at the end, I ate three bowls. Photo 3 shows the welcome Japanese sweets prepared in our room's fridge, paired with the Kaga Bocha tea I brewed myself. It had a firm texture and weight, yet melted incredibly smoothly in my mouth with a clean aftertaste. I knew Kanazawa's wagashi were high quality, but this was a surprise. I looked it up and found it's the '200-Year Yokan' from the long-established Ren'ei Shodo shop near Soyu. We bought a lot of souvenirs the next day at the Al Plaza specialty store in front of Kagaonsen Station.

Took a friend who traveled a long way to my favorite spot... It's a cozy izakaya where you can enjoy sushi, tempura, and other Japanese dishes. We ordered freely, focusing on seasonal vegetable dishes and whatever else we felt like eating. Since we sat at the counter, it was fun watching the chefs cook right in front of us. I was super full last night! 😆
