Lightweight Worlds for Smartphones: Japanese Style Edition

This time, I'll introduce some lightweight Japanese-style worlds from my personal recommendations that you can enjoy even on your smartphone! I especially recommend World 3, so please check it out. 1. Sakura Small Room A perpetually spring-like space with the sound of chirping birds. It's completely free of clutter, allowing for a truly relaxing experience. The mirror is activated by tapping the lantern, moving it to the left side near the bamboo blinds. The pen is a flower near the futon, and next to it is the ON/OFF switch for the duvet. It might be surprisingly appealing to city dwellers who miss tranquil nature. (⚠iPhone✕) 2. SEDO Lighting DEMO 2․3 A sample Japanese-style room world. You can lie down in the futon even if your avatar doesn't have a lying-down pose! Tap on a blank wall or the ceiling when lying down in the futon to access the mirror. You can also finely adjust the day/night cycle and the intensity of various light sources. That mini-game is also included. (⚠iPhone✕) 3. Japan MoonLight Dreams A single-story house standing in a watery space with a fantastical moon, where whales and rays fly. This is likely a world created by someone overseas, compatible with all environments. It's surprisingly spacious, so feel free to explore. There are also multiple game gimmicks and a pleasant garden with the sound of frogs. Let's leave the boarding gimmicks to the VR users! That's all for the main topic! See you again another dayー.

For Smartphone Users Who Find In-World Items Difficult to Handle

With the default VRC settings on smartphones, usable items will all have hit detection as shown in the first image. This can make it difficult to grab the item you want when there are multiple hit detections, or it might make it obvious which items are usable from the start, diminishing the fun of exploring for items or gimmicks in worlds. This time, I'll share a recommended setting for all of you. 1. Open the square menu and tap the gear icon. 2. (If it's the small menu, switch to the larger one.) 3. Tap the 'Controls' section on the left. 4. Change the interaction method as shown in images 2 -> 3. With this setting, hit detection will only apply to what your pointer is aimed at, as seen in the fourth image! To use an item, simply press the hand icon that appears on the right. Handling objects becomes a bit easier. This works for objects (things with form), but for flat gimmick buttons that don't have objects, hit detection often doesn't occur, so you can just point with your cursor and tap directly. If you find the central pointer distracting and don't want it, you can turn it off by going to Settings > User Interface and toggling 'Show Reticle' off, as shown in the fifth image. That's all for the main topic! See you again another day~.

Like 3-Point VR Without VR?! Camera Tracking!

Actually, in VRChat, there's a way to move your avatar as if you had 3-point VR, even without VR. This post is about that. ※This post is PC-centric. For smartphone users, please refer to the additional notes in the comments. First, let's check if you can use this method. 1. Does the monitor you play VRChat on have a camera? 2. When you launch VRChat, is that camera not being used by another application? If you clear these two points, you're good to go! Now, for the specific method. ※I've written the steps in rainbow order on the image, so please follow that order. 1. Specify the camera. Image 🔴 2. Adjust the tracking quality to match your environment. Image 🟠 ※Reference for my play environment → Image 🟡 3. Turn this ON if you want to move your hands as well as your head, eyes, and mouth. Image 🟢 4. Let's turn ON Camera Tracking. Image 🔵 ※The screen will freeze. Once the screen starts moving, close the menu, move your head, or try opening and closing your hands in front of you. (5). If your facial expressions break when you blink or change expressions, turning this ON (Image 🟣) can prevent it. It worked on a gaming laptop/a laptop without gaming performance/a smartphone (additional notes below) if the conditions were met, so please give it a try! That's all for the main topic! See you again laterー.

Exploring Lightweight, All-Environment Compatible Worlds on Smartphones

Since it's VRC, I want to explore even from my smartphone! ... This time, for those adventurous souls, I'll introduce some outdoor, spacious, and all-environment compatible worlds! The last one is especially recommended because it's huge yet incredibly light! 1. Wildlife Sanctuary First, the mountains! The respawn point is a cozy mountain cabin. Head outside and follow the path, and you'll find various animals! Some might be unexpected?! You'll be surprised when you reach the campsite! The surrounding creatures are those considered dangerous in reality...!? 2. Orange Days Next, the sea! It has quite a few gimmicks. It's pretty challenging on smartphones, but there's also a shooting element. You can roast marshmallows, swim in the sea... there's also a jet system, so if you take it with you and swim while using it, you can move quickly. Let VR users handle the boat-related gimmicks. 3. 暗夜行路 - A Dark Night's Passing Finally, a dark night's path. You might think, 'It's lightweight, so I can only enter one building, right?' But that's not the case at all. There are places inside you'd normally never go in daily life?! Well, you'll have to check that for yourself. That's all for the main topic! See you again another day. ※We are closed for new posts every Sunday.

Basic Words You'll Often Hear in VRChat

This time, I've compiled some words that are commonly used in VRChat but might sound like 'What is that?!' to newcomers. ...However, you'll naturally learn them as you play, so there's absolutely no need to force yourself to memorize them! Don't worry! ・Collider To keep 3D models as light as possible, they are often made with a visible exterior but an empty interior. If this were the case, you'd pass right through objects, so a 'Collider' is used to prevent this. Think of it as filling the empty interior with invisible shapes. ※Some VR users refer to bumping into real-world objects as 'hitting a real-world collider' lol ・Bone In the world of 3D models, parts that sway or move have what's called a 'Bone' inside them. For example, avatar hair and skirts have bones, which you can think of as the core/joint for movement. ・Local/Global In VRChat, this refers to whether objects in a world are set to synchronize with other people in that world. Local means no synchronization (✕), so only you can see it, while Global is the opposite. ・Instance When you enter a world, you can create a new one or join someone else's. Think of it like 'creating a new thread' in a chat community. That's all for the main topic! See you again another day~

Recommended for Home Settings in All Environments! Super Lightweight World

A common issue for smartphone users is 'the home world being slightly heavy, making it prone to crashing even right after launching the app'... So, this time, I recommend this for your home settings! Introducing a super lightweight world with minimal scenery, a mirror, and a pen! ※Also recommended for low-spec users, as this place solves the 'even when brightening settings, dark areas still appear completely black' problem! 1. KILOBYTE no Ame - Rain of KB This world is one of four created by the same author in the KILOBYTE series. It's a single room featuring a cityscape with rain falling at night. 2. KILOBYTE no Ima - Now of KB Another in the KILOBYTE series by the same author. The large clock and the moon behind it might appeal to those with a bit of chuunibyou like myself. Compared to the previous one, it's a bit wider, causing FPS to drop by only 1-2. ※↑The other two worlds in this author's KILOBYTE series are not recommended for low-spec users as they are dark. 3. Kilobyte Modern Beach A world by a different author than the two above. It's a bright room with a vast expanse of water and a blue sky. If you prefer daytime over nighttime, this one might be more to your liking. That's all for the main topic! See you again in a few daysー.

Lightweight Tutorial Worlds Accessible from Smartphones

This time, I've gathered and will introduce some tutorial worlds scattered throughout VRC. 1. [JP] Tutorial world This is probably where most Japanese users start. It explains all of VRC's operations in this one world. It's also helpful that it's updated very frequently. You might be surprised by the amount of information, but you don't need to know everything to play! 2. Avatar Modification Tutorial Thinking about modifying your avatar in the future... If so, be sure to check this place out! It covers all the basics of avatar modification. If you already have a gaming PC, it's very lightweight, so you can work while checking things out. There's a lot of wisdom from predecessors scattered across the internet, but I don't think there's any other place where the necessary information is compiled in one spot like this. (⚠iPhone✕) 3. How to Upgrade Account This explains how to merge your VRChat account with accounts from Steam/Oculus/Meta/Google, which is an issue that's easy to neglect. Delete or merge unused accounts! Neglecting this is dangerous! (⚠iPhone✕) That's all for the main topic! See you again another dayー.
