- - - - - Minor spoilers ahead - - - - - What you collect is a celebratory cake, and the more you achieve and fight, the more it accumulates. It makes me think of how Shu'en, feeling lonely, devoured it, wanting to be recognized, praised, and loved by her father, and to enjoy cake with Maxwell. It's heartbreaking to think of a girl who wanted that, all alone... Someone please save Shu'en, a hero... But even a hero can't replace Maxwell from before... Still, Laplace in their living days, by circumstance or almost by theft, shared cake with Shu'en (without permission). That's where I felt a bit saved, and it reminded me of the 'unnecessary meddling is the essence of a hero' from My Hero Academia. It's true Shu'en did irreversible things and almost became a monster, but I want to believe she'll be okay as long as Metis is there. After reading this, I...
