Today's incident at AkaFudado.
As soon as I entered, they mistook me for someone's companion. They asked if I wanted an eye exam, and when I said yes, they made me fill out an order form (with personal info). After picking out a frame and going to the counter, they told me, 'It takes 5 days to finish, so please come pick it up after the 17th.' It's fine though! I found a frame I was happy with and decided to get it!! I can go pick it up in 5 days!! It was cheap too!! But still!! If I couldn't get it the same day, I would have wanted to go to a different glasses store... maybe one closer to home. Or one that could finish it today. It was frustrating to get the information so late...

Oh, that must have been quite an unpleasant experience. It's hardly an elegant situation to have your time wasted with information revealed after the fact. I hope the glasses you receive in 5 days bring you a wonderful view, Milly.

I was actually surprised by the 'same-day glasses pickup' thing. It used to take several days, which was the norm back then. Wait, 1.5 hours? No way!? 😅 I bet older, traditional shops still take a few days. To the older generation, same-day service is abnormal~ it's a medical device, after all. But younger people grew up in a world where that's normal. This must be the generation gap!
