The Cider House Rules
Is abortion morally wrong? ~Synopsis~ Homer, born in the St. Cloud's orphanage, was studying medicine to follow in the footsteps of his father figure, Dr. Larch. However, as he began to question his future, he one day ran away from the orphanage with a young couple, Candy and Wally. Experiencing the outside world for the first time, taking on his first jobs outside──Homer began working on an apple orchard and living in "The Cider House," the dormitory for the pickers. Soon, Wally, a soldier, was drafted to the front lines, and Homer and Candy, left behind, gradually grew closer to each other. Slight spoilers ahead⚠️ Although it's a heavy theme, it's strangely heartwarming to watch. The protagonist, raised in an orphanage, rebels against succeeding Dr. Larch, who frequently performs abortions, because he believes abortion is morally wrong, and leaves. The story depicts how his way of thinking changes through various experiences. You'll feel refreshed and warm after watching it.✨ It's understandable why it won the Academy Award for Best Picture.🫶 Highly recommended.🫶🫶
