The Ghost at the Crossing
I thought the term 'ghost novel' was more fitting than 'horror'. It's a story not about fearing ghosts, but about mourning the dead who have become ghosts. The mysterious female spirit appearing at the railroad crossing, and the search for her true identity. When the spirit's identity is finally revealed, there was a sense of catharsis, but also sadness, and my heart was overwhelmed. Looking at the crossing on the cover brings up complex emotions, and my chest tightens. It's a well-crafted, moving mystery and a requiem. It's not horror, so I'd recommend it to those who dislike scary things.

Genocide was fun, so if it's the same author, I'd like to read this too! (*^_^*)
