The Mermaid Escaped
A novel by Michiko Aoyama The Mermaid Escaped in Ginza A prince searching for the Little Mermaid in Ginza becomes a hot topic on social media. A story where the world of Andersen's Little Mermaid intersects with the real world. This is a collection of linked short stories about five men and women who meet a prince in Ginza's pedestrian paradise and search for the Little Mermaid. Each of them is struggling with issues in love, marriage, and work. The 'prince' gives them insight and offers gentle affirmation, providing a sense of warmth. There are foreshadowing elements scattered throughout, and the ending ties everything up neatly. It's a book that gives you the courage to move forward. Addendum: Huh? That character was mixed in too!! lol

I got curious and looked it up, and many people's reviews were highly rated with lots of wonderful impressions. I felt a hidden strength that lived up to its name of being nominated for the Japan Booksellers Award for 4 consecutive years. Thank you for introducing such a great book!
