The movie "Boss," released in 2025, is a comedy-action film directed by Ra Hee-chan, starring actors Jo Woo-jin, Jung Kyung-ho, Park Ji-hwan, and Lee Kyu-hyung. After the boss of an organization dies, instead of fighting for power, the potential successors fiercely yield to each other to protect their own dreams, making it a comedy film. Usually, people fight to become the boss, but in this movie, situations like "You do it" and "I absolutely refuse" unfold. And yet, the actors are so serious in these situations... I enjoyed the humor that comes from their seriousness. While the comedic payoff might be a bit lacking for a comedy film, and it might be slightly disappointing if you're expecting a huge twist or deep lingering thoughts, the fun of appreciating the actors' comedic performances made it enjoyable from my perspective. Rather than sophisticated humor, "Boss" is a time-killing movie that's good to watch comfortably without overthinking.

This is the 2019 mystery thriller film [Svaha: The Sixth Finger], starring Lee Jung-jae, Yoo Ji-tae, Park Jung-min, and Lee Jae-in, directed by Jang Jae-hyun, who also directed 'The Priests' and 'Exhuma'. The main plot follows Pastor Park Woong-bae (Lee Jung-jae) of the Religious Affairs Research Institute, who specializes in investigating religious corruption. While tracking a new religious group called 'Deer동산' (Deer동산), he becomes aware of a mysterious murder case and delves into the truth behind the fake Maitreya who dreams of eternal life and the twin sister Geum-hwa (Lee Jae-in), born 16 years ago. Despite being a relatively niche genre, occult horror, it surpassed its break-even point by drawing 2.4 million domestic viewers and even topped the box office upon its release. While the unique worldview and the actors' performances are commendable, it leans more towards a mystery investigation than outright horror, which might bore horror enthusiasts. Additionally, the latter half's development and conclusion have been criticized for being somewhat anticlimactic.

The movie "Dog Days" tells the story of people living completely different lives who become intertwined through their dogs. Min-sang, a neat and meticulous single man, bickers daily with Jin-young, a veterinarian who is his building's tenant. Then, he meets the world-renowned architect Min-seo and approaches Jin-young and her pet dog, Manager Cha, for his project. Meanwhile, Min-seo suddenly collapses and loses her beloved dog, Wanda. Composer Seon-yong's family and delivery rider Jin-woo join the search for Wanda. With the stories of other dogs also unfolding, the characters' relationships naturally connect. At first, I thought it was a light movie with dogs, but I was pleasantly surprised by how well it depicted relationships, family, and love. The dogs were so cute that I couldn't stop smiling throughout the movie, and the way people, living their own lives, met each other and gradually changed felt heartwarming. I'd recommend it as a healing movie that you can comfortably watch and laugh along with.

This is a comedy film depicting the confrontation between a gang of gangsters who hide in a quiet mountain temple to escape an attack from a rival organization, and the monks who try to drive them out. A hilarious chaotic mess unfolds as the fierce gangsters and the peace-seeking monks engage in ingenious bets to either avoid being kicked out of the temple or to expel them. Amidst absurd challenges like filling a leaky, bottomless jar with water, the process of the two opposing groups gradually understanding each other's wounds and assimilating is impressive. The synergy of top-tier actors like Park Shin-yang and Jung Jin-young, and the humor presented by the multi-dimensional characters stand out. It's a masterpiece of Korean comedy that not only delivers simple laughter but also subtly conveys a message of acceptance and virtue, making it a delightful watch for the whole family.

This is one of my top 3 favorite musical movies haha Good Morning Baltimore and Miss Baltimore are my favorite songs. 'The Connie Collins Show,' which is incredibly popular among Baltimore teenagers. Tracy (Nikki Blonsky), a super heavyweight with dreams of becoming the top dancer, 'Miss Hairspray,' on a TV dance show, sports a voluminous, trendy hairstyle and maintains her cheerful, refreshing, and exhilarating personality at all times. One day, when an open audition is held for 'The Connie Collins Show' to recruit new members, Tracy, leaving behind her mother Edna (John Travolta) who worries she might be intimidated by the slender, S-line beauties dominating the dance show, confidently participates in the audition for her dream.

This is the 2006 film [V for Vendetta], based on Alan Moore's graphic novel and written by the Wachowskis. The director is James McTeigue, who also directed Ninja Assassin starring Rain, and it's a dystopian thriller starring Natalie Portman and Hugo Weaving. In the future of Britain (2040) after World War III, the country is ruled by a totalitarian regime, and the government oppresses and surveils the citizens' freedom. One day, V (Hugo Weaving), an unidentified terrorist wearing a Guy Fawkes mask, appears before Evey Hammond (Natalie Portman), who is in danger of being captured by secret police, and helps her. The main plot involves V carrying out his plan to overthrow the corrupt powers, along with his personal revenge. It's a dystopian film that received critical acclaim from both the public and critics, notable for its profound themes and the outstanding performances of the lead actors. However, there are also criticisms that it's a somewhat sensational and hollow heroic tale, and the original author, Alan Moore, criticized it for being overly simplified into an American-style freedom VS fascism dichotomy.

Do you guys know this movie? It's a movie I recently discovered, and I love action comedies!! Many of you might have seen it already, but I found the story surprisingly touching and fresh. It's about a secret agent whose identity is discovered by a young elementary school girl, and they become best friends lol_lol I won't spoil it for those who haven't seen it. Can you recommend some hardcore gore movies like Death Camp and Saw~

This is a story about Sang-woo, a 7-year-old boy from the city, who is temporarily left with his grandmother living alone in a rural village. It captures the heartwarming daily life of an ill-mannered city kid accustomed to video games and fast food, and his grandmother who cannot speak or read but gives her all for her grandson. The grandmother's love, embracing even the rudeness of the child's tantrums and demands with a warm smile and silent devotion, deeply moves the viewers. Without any sensational direction or flashy techniques, it awakens a sense of quiet innocence and true family love, making it a touching masterpiece of Korean cinema that reminds us of the warm embrace of a grandmother we may have forgotten.

This is one of my top 3 favorite musical movies lol Renée Zellweger, who plays Roxie, is truly captivating. You should definitely watch it!! 'Roxie,' who dreams of becoming a star on a dazzling stage, is imprisoned for an accidental murder. There, she meets 'Velma,' Chicago's most captivating diva, and together with 'Billy,' a lawyer with a 100% win rate, they plot a plan for acquittal. 'Billy' is a master of show business, transforming the courtroom into a stage and skillfully exploiting the media's tendency to flock to sensational cases like moths to a flame. 'Roxie' also manages to pique 'Billy's' interest and gets him to take her case. 'Roxie,' who was just an ordinary aspiring singer, becomes the talk of the town, gracing the front pages of newspapers and skyrocketing to stardom... "It was murder, but not a crime." Their show has already begun!
