The bible of shojo manga that sparked the Kazehaya syndrome. High school girl Kuronuma Sawako, with her long black hair and gloomy expression, had the nickname "Sadako" (the ghost from the movie The Ring). However, Kazehaya Shouta, a male classmate, recognized Sawako's kindness and the true beauty hidden beneath her long hair, and fell for her. The male protagonist, Kazehaya Shouta, is not only handsome but also very bright and cheerful, and is so sociable that he even has a fan club at school, making him incredibly popular. For him to notice Sawako, who is known for being gloomy, and fall for her first... Of course, Sawako eventually falls for Kazehaya too, making them a very happy couple. I thought the anime ended with its second season in 2011, but due to its immense popularity, it returned with a third season in 2024. The side story features Kurumizawa Ume as the protagonist, and depicts her relationship with Sawako's cousin, Kurokawa(?) Eiji. If you like shojo manga, this is one you absolutely must read.

Spring is coming soon. The spring I met you is coming. The spring without you is coming. A masterpiece, perfect in both manga and anime. The anime was worked on by the same people who did Nodame Cantabile, which further elevated the quality of the classical music. The protagonist, Kosei Arima, is a genius pianist prodigy. However, due to the harsh lessons from his mother, Saki Arima, he experiences trauma and, at some point, loses the ability to feel the nuances of music when immersed in playing the piano. He was about to fade into mediocrity, but then he met Miyazono Kaori, a violinist in her third year of middle school. He becomes her accompanist for a competition, and through playing the piano again, he reawakens as a pianist. Watch the anime. The anime is incredible. The parts where Kosei and Kaori perform as if competing against each other are particularly breathtaking. You'll understand why the title is 'Your Lie in April' by the end. Truly, even the title is perfect. Personally, I love classical anime, and I think Kimiuso is a well-made classical manga. But it's actually a coming-of-age story.

Mugi has zero dating experience and absolutely no communication skills with guys. When she enters high school, she meets Kurose Kei, who is incredibly handsome but incredibly blunt with girls. However, one day, she goes to her usual cafe, only to find it has changed. Upon entering the new cafe, she discovers Kei working there, and it turns out to be a host cafe. As they talk about Kei wanting to keep this fact a secret from others, Mugi gets involved with Kei in other matters as well, and gradually finds herself falling for him. This series is completed and has 13 volumes published. I haven't finished reading it yet, but I'm already excited about how it will end. The content is basically the author throwing in all the crazy elements of romance, and I found the story development enjoyable right from the first volume. The art style is just insane. I think it's a must-read if you like romance. I highly recommend this to anyone who likes romance or is looking for an introductory romance series.

This is the story of brothers Edward and Alphonse, who lost their bodies while attempting to revive their mother through forbidden alchemy, as they track down the 'Philosopher's Stone' to regain their original forms. It's a masterpiece with a solid world-building and vast foreshadowing that is perfectly resolved, boasting overwhelming plausibility. This manga intricately and movingly depicts human greed, sacrifice, and the hope that blossoms even amidst despair.

Novara Mochizuki is a 2nd-year high school student who hasn't even had her first love yet. One day, she, who usually gets praised for being 'diligent,' is asked by her teacher to help with tutoring. However, the person she's supposed to help is Setohara, a famous student notorious for rumors. Through this encounter, Novara begins to learn about Setohara, who is different from the rumors. This work is still ongoing, and currently, 3 volumes have been published. The story progression seems similar to typical high school teen romance, but I found it interesting because the content has the author's unique touch. I can only describe the art style as 'insane,' though that's subjective. It was the most enjoyable romance work I've read recently, and I think those who love romance can add it to their cart without hesitation and won't regret it. I highly recommend it to those who love romance or are new to the genre.

If you're going to watch it, it's better to go with the complete edition of Shaman King rather than the old one. First off, the cover art is beautiful, the translation is cleaner, and most importantly, the ending is different. The old version ends with Hao becoming a princess, but the complete edition presents the true ending. Well... if Hao is happy, maybe the princess Hao ending isn't so bad. It's a story about the protagonist, Asakura Yoh, participating in the Shaman Fight, a battle to decide the strongest shaman, and fighting to become the Shaman King with omnipotent power. Yoh has a fiancée named Kyoyama Anna, and she is also a powerful medium, voiced by the amazing Megumi Hayashibara. A remake anime aired in 2021, and the voice cast remained almost the same. Also, the ending and opening themes were sung by powerhouse singers like Megumi Hayashibara, Yui Horie, and Nana Mizuki, so it's definitely worth watching the remake. Personally, I really like Hao. He's the strongest character in the series because he's modeled after Abe no Seimei, and most importantly, because he's Yoh's xx.

It's Bleach from the 'WonNaBle' trio. Honestly, personally, I enjoyed it the most among the three. It spawned countless famous lines and memes, and the techniques they used became a meme. Scatter, Senbonzakura; Shatter, Kyōka Suigetsu; Roar, Zangetsu, etc. It depicts Kurosaki Ichigo's journey as a Soul Reaper after receiving powers from Kuchiki Rukia. As the story progresses towards the ending, Kurosaki's true identity is revealed, and you realize just how important lineage and blood ties are. Kurosaki Ichigo is the strongest character in Bleach. Lineage-based game balance... lol Bleach features two heroines, Inoue Orihime and Kuchiki Rukia. Who Ichigo ends up with is a major spoiler, so you'll have to watch it yourself. Bleach Remix has been published in Korea since 2024, and each volume contains 3 volumes of the old edition. The basic translation has become cleaner, but it's a mess with translations like 'Hollow' to 'Holo', 'Vasto Lorde' to 'Uecomundo', and 'Arrancar' to 'Arancar'. Unless you're a die-hard fan, it's better for your mental health to read the old edition.

Childhood friends Ran and Ren, brothers who promised to be by Mi's side after her father's divorce when she was young. Mi has a crush on the older brother, Ran. Because of this, she excluded Ren, who is the opposite of Ran—flirtatious and with a complicated love life—as a romantic partner. However, for some reason, Ren keeps appearing at crucial moments for Mi, thoroughly confusing her feelings and waiting for the perfect moment to start dating her. It was published in 3 volumes and is a completed work. I usually stick to action series, so I was a bit hesitant about romance, but I enjoyed this work immensely without any reservations. I thought the story development might be similar to other childhood friend stories, but given its short length, the plot progressed satisfyingly. The art style is simply breathtaking. If you like romance and haven't read this, you're missing out. I highly recommend this to anyone who loves romance or wants to get into the genre.

Dr. Kenzo Tenma, a brilliant neurosurgeon in Germany, saves the life of a young boy instead of a politician. However, he realizes that the boy he saved has grown up to become a ruthless 'Monster,' and begins to track the boy to end the tragedy he himself started. This is a masterpiece mystery thriller by Naoki Urasawa, with intricate foreshadowing and overwhelming tension that will keep you glued to the pages.

This is the manga [Master Keaton] by Naoki Urasawa, often called a true manga for adults. The first part was serialized from 1988 to 1994, concluding with 18 volumes. The second part was serialized irregularly from 2012 to 2014, concluding with 8 chapters making up 1 volume. Taichi Keaton, an archaeologist from Oxford, also works as an investigator for Lloyd's Insurance due to his unique background as a former SAS survival instructor. The main story follows him as he encounters and resolves various cases while working as an insurance investigator. Praised as a "bible for adults who understand the weight of life" without any sensational or explicit content, it's a manga that offers deep comfort and resonance by naturally blending harsh reality with warm humanity.
