The Promised Neverland
This is the suspense adventure thriller manga [The Promised Neverland], which was serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump from 2016 to 2020 and concluded with a total of 20 volumes. The protagonists, Emma, Norman, and Ray, who were living happily under the care of "Mama" at the peaceful orphanage 'Grace Field House,' accidentally discover one day that they are destined to be offered as human flesh to monsters called demons, and that their caretaker, Mama, is in league with them. Then, they devise a plan to escape from Mama's watchful eyes and embark on a journey to escape the world ruled by monsters and find their true utopia. The escape arc from the orphanage in the early part received considerable acclaim for its breathtaking psychological warfare and intense brain battles. While some criticized that the tension lessened as the story progressed, it managed to cover this with its dark fantasy setting and unique characters, concluding reasonably well and achieving commercial success.

[Manga] Teach Me, Butler
Kikyo loves Hanayagi, the butler who truly faced her when she was lonely in her childhood. She's been in unrequited love ever since, constantly expressing her feelings, but Hanayagi, with his unyielding attitude, always brushes off her affection. However, she plans to attend a party to catch Hanayagi's attention. This series is still ongoing and has 2 volumes published so far. It didn't quite match my taste, but I'm posting it because it's a popular work. The art style was good. The story progression is similar to typical romance, and the content might be polarizing. Personally, I'm not a fan, but if you like butlers, you should definitely check it out. I recommend this to those who like butlers or romances with a social status difference.

Death Note
A masterpiece suspense story about the intense battle of wits between a genius high school student who obtains a mysterious notebook that kills anyone whose name is written in it, and the brilliant detective pursuing him. The meticulously crafted foreshadowing, a tense psychological battle where you can't let your guard down for even a second, and a powerful narrative that poses moral dilemmas maximize immersion. It's the pinnacle of brain-burning thrillers, constantly questioning the standards of justice and keeping you on the edge of your seat until the very end.

[Manga] I Can't Raise Him at Home
Nanami is a 26-year-old single office worker. On her lonely birthday, she witnesses a fight on her way home after drinking. Worried about Souta, a college student who was beaten and collapsed there, she brings him home. However, Souta, a womanizer who drifts from place to place, finds himself increasingly drawn to Nanami, who doesn't fall for him. This work is completed and has 2 volumes published. The art style and content might be a bit polarizing, but it's charming, and since there are only 2 volumes, it's short. If you like romance, I recommend giving it a try. Recommended for those who enjoy romance.

[Manga] Kindergarten WARS
Rita, a former legendary killer. She now works at the safest kindergarten in the world, attended by the children of global elites. Her job is to protect the children from assassins who come after them every day. Rita and the kindergarten teachers fight off these dangerous enemies, but Rita, who was once an ace, has a weakness: she's susceptible to handsome men. She questions them, and if they don't meet her standards, she takes them down. In this kindergarten, facing various dangers, the teachers navigate increasingly perilous challenges. This work is still ongoing and has currently published up to volume 17. The genre is a mix of action and romance. I've read all 17 volumes, and the story is truly thrilling. Sometimes romance is mixed into the action scenes, which might be polarizing, but I personally loved it. I thought both the story and the art were great. It's also been announced that it will be animated in the spring of 2027, which I'm very excited about. I highly recommend this series to those who enjoy works that blend action and romance.

ALIENSs
[Review] Kagurabachi
This is the story of Chihiro, who lost his father in an incident involving a cursed sword made by his father, and fights to reclaim the stolen sword and get revenge. At first, I thought it was a simple revenge story, but it became interesting as the story expanded with different abilities for each cursed sword and the factions surrounding them. The battle art and direction were especially great, and the pacing was fast, so I didn't get bored reading it. I recommend it if you like sword and supernatural ability battle manga.

[Review] Pig's Revenge
Due to his obese physique and a face resembling a pig, the protagonist Hirota Takeshi spent his days being bullied by his classmates. One day, Takeshi attempts to end his life, and at that moment, he is engulfed in light and transported to another world. There, he lives like family with the orcs, and even gets into a relationship, sort of, with an elf woman. However, his classmates, who were also summoned to this other world like Takeshi, the so-called "34 Heroes," who are worse than cattle, caused him to lose most of the orcs he considered family, and even the elf woman who gave him love. Consumed by revenge, Takeshi embarks on a journey to get back at his classmates. It's quite gory and also has a high level of explicit content. Women might find it uncomfortable to watch, but I'm a woman too. It's definitely watchable. It's a picaresque work and a thrilling revenge story. Picaresque is trending these days, so if you like picaresque, I recommend it.

[Review] Gannibal
200,000 years since the dawn of human history. Cannibalism was once a culture. Religious rituals, superstitious remedies, personal desires. Cannibalism was practiced for various reasons across the globe. In Japan, it was only clearly prohibited after the Meiji era. However, even now, somewhere in the world, perhaps in some Japanese village... This is a manga centered around cannibalism. The protagonist, police officer Agawa Daigo, is assigned to the mountainous village of Kuge. Believing the words left by his predecessor, Officer Karino Osamu, 'The people of this village eat people,' Daigo becomes suspicious of Kuge village. And after his arrival, a series of incidents begin to occur in Kuge village... I intended to read just the first volume as a preview, but ended up reading the entire series. The story has considerable gripping power. Fueled by its popularity, it has also been adapted into a Japanese drama series on Disney+. If you enjoyed the original manga, you'll likely enjoy the drama as well. I don't recommend it if you dislike gore, but I do recommend it if you enjoy picaresque stories.

Puppet Circus
This is the masterpiece shonen manga [Puppet Circus] by Fujita Kazuhiro. Serialized from 1997 to 2006, it concluded with a total of 43 volumes, or 26 volumes in the complete edition. The story primarily revolves around the events that unfold as three individuals – Kato, a martial artist afflicted with Jonaha's disease which causes him to suffocate if he doesn't make others laugh; Shirogane, a puppeteer; and Masaru, a young boy who inherits a vast fortune and faces imminent death – become embroiled in a war between an army of automatons and the automaton-destroying legion. While its meticulous plot-thread recovery and the direction that grants nearly every character a narrative arc and purpose deserve high praise, it does have the drawback of being somewhat slow-paced in the beginning, with the real fun only kicking in after enduring a certain level of buildup. It might be viewed negatively by those who prefer clean art and fast-paced developments, but once you get past the initial part, it's a work that leaves such a strong impression it could be called a "life-changing manga."

Black Lagoon
This is [Black Lagoon], a representative Japanese hardboiled gangster manga serialized since 2002. The story revolves around the Lagoon Company, a pirate criminal organization disguised as a transport service, set in the fictional lawless city of 'Roanapur' in Southeast Asia. It's a manga that sparked a hardboiled action craze in the 2000s subculture scene, with over 10 million copies in circulation. Due to author Rei Hiroe's depression and personal circumstances, the series has gone through long hiatuses and returns, with each volume taking 2-4 years to be published, showing an extremely slow serialization pace. As far as I know, 13 volumes have been released in Korea. Surprisingly, the author himself has expressed a clear intention to complete the series in interviews and other occasions. With thorough firearm accuracy and thrilling gunfights as its strengths, it's a manga that fans of hardboiled stories will surely enjoy.
