Anyone studying with Duolingo?
I was expecting a study app that first explains words and meanings, and then lightly introduces grammar. Duolingo feels like it just throws quizzes at you from the start? When you tap on a word, its meaning appears, but I feel it's shown too vaguely. Also, there's a streak feature, and it bothers me a bit that it quizzes me on words I've never seen before ใ ใ ใ ใ . I like Duolingo itself, but I wonder if I'm setting it up wrong, causing it to teach this way? Or is the app just like this? By the way, I'm studying Spanish! Are there any Duolingo users out there? ๐ฅน๐ฅน

That's just how Duolingo is! I was taken aback at first too. It feels more like learning by feel than by grammar rules, so the app's characteristic is to learn by constantly tackling quizzes. Are you starting to study Spanish? Awesome, I'll cheer you on!

I just study foreign languages by focusing on words. I set goals like memorizing 100 words or 1000 words.

As soon as I installed the app, there was a quiz-like thing for testing or something. It's the same in Japanese, Spanish, and English;;๐ฅ Still, it's a popular app among kids.

It seems like an app to learn little by little easily, rather than studying intensely! I've tried Japanese and English, and it's good to skip ahead if it matches your level.

I do play it. This app seems to be one where you learn by getting questions wrong, starting with quizzes ๐ค

I do it too!!! The quiz is really like a game, and you can do it enough even without paying.

I deleted it after less than a week. It just didn't fit my study style. I remember it was a hassle to even withdraw, sigh... Lately, I've been studying with ChatGPT, and it seems pretty good.

I'm doing 'Make Money English'. I originally wanted to learn Japanese, but I didn't have the money, so I chose 'Make Money English' because it's easy to download without initial costs.

But I kept getting it wrong, and then eventually I memorized it. I think practicing speaking helped a lot, listening and repeating. Of course, these days I'm too lazy, so I'm just keeping my streak going with Duolingo Chess lol..

I quit because it didn't fit my style, but people who enjoy it play for months๐ค
