I went to Liu Shan Men a few days ago and saw a new menu item called 'Cilantro Hot Pot' that I didn't know was there. I thought it was too absurd (?) so I decided to try it 🤣 When the hot pot was served, I couldn't help but gasp. I can eat cilantro normally, but seeing such a large bunch still made me a bit scared 😲 I heard it's based on a Vietnamese broth (I'm not too sure what Vietnamese broth tastes like, but I imagine it's like the beef pho broth, and it actually tasted similar 🫣). Actually, when I ate it, I didn't feel a very strong cilantro flavor. Personally, I thought it was quite tasty and acceptable hahaha, but the broth became a bit too rich and salty as it cooked. If you're interested, you can give it a try 😆👍

Anyway, I say it's okay! 😂 (I'll try to find more delicious food to share with everyone when I have time later 🥲) But I think FamilyMart's Italian Tomato Meat Sauce Pasta is really good. The meat sauce is flavorful, and paired with the rich, melted cheese strings, it's simply heavenly. It's great for when you suddenly can't find anything to eat 🤤👍

A small hot pot place specializing in dishes like pickled fish or mala fish! It's perfectly fine for solo dining. I'm actually quite fond of this type of Chinese Sichuan cuisine. The chili powder at their self-serve condiment bar has a unique aroma (probably that legendary BBQ sauce flavor 🤣), and I found it delicious and quite addictive 🤤 Unfortunately, the branch near my house closed down and changed to selling something else. If I want to eat this flavor again, I'll have to travel to another city 🥲

I personally really like these platter sets. It feels like I'm eating a hearty meal and it's well-balanced! ...Although I don't usually eat many vegetables, so I always leave a lot of salad behind 🫣

KFC's original egg tarts are the most classic and delicious, but the special limited-time flavors they release each time are also really interesting. I always make sure to buy and try them whenever I see them🤣 I surprisingly found this time's Sichuan Peppercorn Peanut Egg Tart to be quite good. It sounds like a shocking combination at first, but the overall flavor profile works well, going for a sweet and savory route. It is a bit spicy though (I'm sensitive to spice😂), and it has mochi inside which gives it a great texture. Recommended!😆👍

I've been eating San Ma Stinky Pot since high school. I've tried it in Tainan and several places in the north. Honestly, the one on Xinsu Road in Shulin is still the best. Just look at the crowds lining up every day. The ingredients are generous, and the strongest part is the soup. I really finish the soup every time. If you're passing through Shulin, you must try it. Shulin has many hidden gems that only locals know about. Feel free to visit and be my dining buddy.
