Long Horror Story (5)
Chapter Five: The Vanishing Escape Route The name "Xiao Mo" struck Lin Mo like lightning, and he collapsed to the ground, his body going limp. This was a nickname only his parents, long deceased, and a very few close people used. How could this abandoned old house, completely unrelated to him, know his nickname? The bloodstains on the wall were still slowly dripping, emitting a pungent smell of blood. The scratching sound from within the walls grew more intense, and the wooden structure began to creak under the strain, as if whatever was behind the wall was about to break through at any moment. Lin Mo forced himself to stand up. Since the stairs were blocked, he had to find another way out. At the end of the second-floor corridor was a wooden door leading to an outer balcony. He rushed towards it like a madman, smashing open the already rotten door. Outside, a torrential downpour raged, and the fierce wind, mixed with rain, lashed against his face, bringing a sliver of cold clarity. Below the balcony was a pitch-black courtyard, about five meters down. Jumping would likely break his legs, but in this life-or-death situation, he had no other choice. Lin Mo climbed onto the stone railing of the balcony, preparing to leap. However, just as he was about to jump, a flash of lightning tore through the night sky, illuminating the courtyard below—it was densely packed with people, all looking up in the pouring rain with eerie smiles, staring at him. And their faces, all of them, were identical. They were all Lin Mo's own face. To be continued

Long Horror Story (4)
Chapter 4: The Breathing Puppet Lin Mo reflexively took two steps back, his back hitting the cold wall hard, shaking off a few yellowed talismans. He stared intently at the puppet in the crib, suspecting he was hallucinating from being too nervous. However, with the puppet's chest rising and falling, an extremely faint sound, like a baby's wheezing, could even be heard in the room. The sound was incredibly clear in the small, enclosed space, and each exhale carried a suffocating stench. Lin Mo gritted his teeth, suppressing the urge to bolt, and raised his camera to capture the scene again. The moment the shutter clicked, the puppet, which had been still on the bed, suddenly rotated its head 180 degrees, its black glass bead eyes staring directly at Lin Mo. Immediately after, dense and chaotic scratching sounds came from within the walls of the old house from all directions, as if countless claws were frantically trying to tear through the wooden boards from the inside. Lin Mo could no longer maintain his composure. He turned and rushed out of the room, sprinting wildly down the dim corridor. However, when he reached the staircase, he was shocked to find that the wooden stairs leading to the first floor had vanished into thin air, replaced by a sealed, pitch-black brick wall. On the wall, someone had scrawled in blood, "Welcome home, little Mo." To be continued in the next episode……

Japanese Urban Legend | The Two-Way Mirror at Midnight 🪞👻
Many ghost stories about 'awase kagami' (facing mirrors) are passed down in Japan. Awase kagami refers to placing two mirrors facing each other, creating an endless reflection of oneself stretching into the depths. One version of the story says— If you count all the way into the depths, the thirteenth reflection of yourself will show your face as it will be at the time of your death. There's also a midnight version: using awase kagami at midnight might let you see spirits or 'something bad'. Mirrors are also a frequently used theme in Japanese ghost story works. In the old anime 'School Ghost Stories,' there was a 'Mirror Dweller' that would pull people into the mirror world. It would then return to reality, disguised as the victim, attempting to replace the real person with 'their reflection.' 'Ghost Teacher Gōbe' actually used the rumor of awase kagami: it's said that standing between two mirrors at exactly 00:00:00 AM allows you to see your 'future self.' Miki and Kyoko snuck into the school at night to try it, and at first, they found it quite amusing to see their grown-up selves. However, starting the next day, they began seeing their future selves in various mirrors and reflections— And each time, their reflection appeared older than the last. Until finally, it showed their death... After watching this kind of anime as a child, I used to quicken my pace whenever I passed a mirror for a while XD Japanese ghost stories are really good at making everyday objects terrifying 👻

Long Horror Story (3)
Chapter 3: The Sealed Forbidden Zone The red light at the end of the pitch-black corridor was particularly glaring, like a blood-red eye deep within this silent, dead old house. Lin Mo held his breath, cautiously walking towards the end of the corridor, his footsteps so light he dared not make a sound. The walls on both sides of the corridor were covered with old black and white photo frames. The people in the pictures stared ahead expressionlessly, their eyes appearing particularly hollow under the flashlight beam. When he reached the wooden door, he found that the copper lock hanging on it was already rusty and mottled, and would likely fall off with a slight touch. The red light seeped from the gap under the door, accompanied by a nauseating stench. It was not the smell of simple mold, but the foul odor of something organic in advanced decay. Lin Mo put on his gloves, gripped the rusty copper lock, and pulled hard. With a 'click,' the lock broke. He slowly pushed the door open, and the creaking sound made him gasp. The entire room's walls were densely covered with yellow paper inscribed with red talismans, and in the center of the floor, a large, complex formation was drawn with some kind of black-red liquid. In the center of the formation was an exquisite baby crib. Lin Mo summoned his courage and walked towards it, pulling back the worn blanket covering it. What he saw inside made his pupils instantly dilate—it wasn't a baby under the blanket, but a lifelike wooden puppet, and its chest was rhythmically rising and falling as if alive... To be continued

Japanese Urban Legend | Red Paper, Blue Paper in the Toilet 🧻👻
There's an urban legend circulating in Japan about school restrooms. It's said that in the innermost stall of some school bathrooms, when you're using the toilet alone, a voice from nowhere suddenly asks: "Do you want red paper, or blue paper?" If you answer 'red,' you'll be attacked until you're covered in blood. If you answer 'blue,' your neck will be choked until your face turns blue. Versions vary slightly by region, with some including options like white or yellow paper, leading to different outcomes. But if you really hear this question in an empty restroom... I think it's best not to answer at all😆👻 ----- I wonder if this kind of urban legend story fits the board rules~

Long Horror Story (2)
Chapter 2: An Anomaly in the Mirror Lin Mo spun around abruptly, but the corner behind him held only a pile of tattered old newspapers and a fallen wooden cabinet. There was no woman in red. He took a deep breath, forcing himself to calm down, telling himself it was just a hallucination from staying up too long, or a trick of the light from the flashlight. He turned back to the mirror. The reflection had returned to normal, showing his own pale face, slick with cold sweat. To document it, Lin Mo raised his camera, aimed it at the mirror, and pressed the shutter. The flash instantly illuminated the entire dim living room. After the bright light, the house plunged into even deeper darkness. Just then, faint but distinct footsteps suddenly came from the second floor. The sound was extremely regular, as if someone was slowly patrolling the hallway in hard-soled leather shoes. Lin Mo's body froze instantly, his heart pounding like a heavy hammer against his chest. But his inner desire for the truth ultimately overcame his fear. He reached out and gripped the wooden handrail of the stairs leading to the second floor. The wood of the handrail was as cold as a dead person's bones. With each step he took upwards, the steps below groaned as if unable to bear the weight. The moment he finally stepped onto the second-floor hallway, the footsteps stopped abruptly. The entire floor fell into a deathly silence, broken only by a faint, eerie blood-red light seeping from under the door of the room at the end of the hallway, which was secured with a brass lock. A Long Horror Story (Part 1)
Chapter 1: The Lingering Ruins The old town was as silent as a tomb on this rainy night. Lin Mo stepped onto the slippery, muddy path and stopped in front of the long-abandoned 'Lin Family Old House'. Thirty years ago, a case that shocked the entire town occurred in this house: a family of five mysteriously disappeared overnight, leaving behind untouched meals and bloodstains all over the floor. As an independent journalist specializing in urban legends, Lin Mo decided to venture into this forbidden place on this stormy night in search of exclusive news material. The heavy wooden door creaked open with a grating sound as he slowly pushed it. A blast of cold air, mixed with the smell of mold and stale blood, immediately hit him. He raised his high-intensity flashlight, its beam cutting through the accumulated darkness, illuminating a dusty, round dining table in the center of the living room. Just as the rumors said, several broken porcelain bowls were on the table, with dried, dark brown stains still visible around their rims. Lin Mo swallowed hard, suppressing the rising excitement and unease, and slowly walked into the living room, the wooden floorboards groaning under his feet. He took out his voice recorder to document the scene. However, as the flashlight beam casually swept across a half-shattered mirror in the corner of the living room, his breath froze. The reflection in the mirror was not his own, but that of a woman in a red dress, her back to him, slowly combing her long hair with unnaturally stiff movements. To be continued...
