#2026/04/05 #HualuFarm Stopped by Miaoli Hualu Farm for a break while passing through Miaoli. It's like visiting Xinshe Sea of Flowers; the farm changes with the flower seasons. We happened to go see the hydrangeas this time. We also bought hydrangea-shaped ice cream. There's a restaurant inside, so we had lunch there too. We ate, took pictures, and rode a mini-train while admiring the flowers. There were also koi, ducks, and geese. Little Amber experienced riding the mini-train (felt more like a 'flower carriage'). The entrance fee was NT$200, with NT$100 usable for purchases, and parking was free.

I took King Oyster Mushroom (nickname) there last June. It was crowded on the weekend, and the ticket price wasn't cheap, but it was nice and air-conditioned for a summer visit. Got a 5% discount with the Taoyuan Citizen Card. It's an aquarium, not very large, divided into indoor and outdoor areas. The giant tanks with lighting showcased a beautiful and dreamy sight of numerous different fish schools and coral reefs! Also, watching the jellyfish slowly drift in the jellyfish zone was very relaxing! Unfortunately, I didn't get to see the penguin slide. The 3rd-floor interactive experience area was under renovation at the time, so I couldn't go up...

#2026/04/06 #MomKnows #FreeTradeCityState #RewardForKillingGoblins There's a new exhibition on the third floor of Mom Knows, featuring LARP equipment and weapon experiences. Build a Free Trade City-State, the entire exhibition area is in a medieval fantasy style, where you can experience flintlock and crossbow shooting. My wife and I tried the flintlock, and we even got prizes, it was so much fun! The crossbow was a bit of a workout, so I tried it myself. "Thanks for playing" (a consolation prize). The staff felt like NPCs, which was awesome! The event has already ended, but if you're interested, you can check out "Free Trade City-State" on FB.

You can see animals like alpacas, sheep, and rabbits in Taoyuan. The 200 NTD entrance fee can be used for 50 NTD worth of consumption, and parking is free. You can exchange it for feed to give to the animals or use it at the restaurant. Aside from some art installations that may be a bit weathered from the sun and wind, the animals are full of energy. 'Escaping' is already a common occurrence, and you can even enter the enclosures to take photos with the animals. It's definitely worth the ticket price! Not many mosquitoes when you go in this weather! The alpacas that keep running out of their enclosure will even go to the feeding area to steal and eat the hay! Turns out the bosses of this farm are three goose brothers! Enjoy the bald cypress trees while you're at the farm! This is my third visit to this farm!

This year's Taiwan Design Expo's main venue is the Taoyuan Convention Center in Qingpu, Taoyuan! Exhibition Dates: 2026/09/24 ~ 2026/10/11 The Taoyuan Convention Center is the main exhibition hall, with a total of 9 major exhibition areas across Taoyuan. The official website link is in the comments section for your reference~ I visited the main venue, the Taoyuan Convention Center. The exhibition space is very large, the air conditioning is cool, and there are many interactive installations. You can even create your own unique dishes or design one-of-a-kind artwork using the website's provided frameworks. You can also fill out a survey to redeem coffee beans or small gifts~ Each exhibition area also has a digital stamp collection. If you register an account and collect 12 stamps, you can get two chances in a random draw. The prizes we received that day included themed stickers, an insulated beverage bag, and canned soda, which was very similar to the recent Land Art Festival event! Near the exhibition hall, there's also Global Mall with stores like Daiso, Muji, and Watsons, offering everything you need. On the third floor of the mall, there's a connecting skybridge where you can watch baseball games in the stadium across the street. If you have time after visiting the exhibition, you can take a stroll there~ Highly recommend this interesting exhibition to everyone😆

#2026/04/11 #Sunset Journey Potion Shop #Longshan Temple Underground Street #Longshan Cultural and Creative Park Saw a different side of Wanhua (艋舺). I rarely went there before because of the homeless population, but heard they were holding an event. I took my little pumpkin along and found it really interesting with all the creative markets, cosplay, board games, and merchandise. The Sunset Journey Potion Shop had a booth at 'Tao Knows' before, and their props were exquisitely crafted and magical. I made a special trip this time and happened to run into them to buy some potions. The owner is just like an in-game potion merchant NPC. When you buy something, they give you a full emotional, NPC-like response.

A paradise located in Jinshan, with blue skies, white clouds, bald cypress trees, cherry blossoms, and flowing water. At the ticket booth, there are two large alpacas, and the white one has a very stylish tail. Multiple prairie cats have commented that you can exchange for feeding opportunities. Inside, there are sika deer, capybaras, giant sheep pigs, and call ducks. With the help of staff, you can shake hands or hug with the goats. The grounds are clean and odor-free (but be careful where you step when entering the sika deer area, it's full of their droppings). It will be even more beautiful to visit in autumn or winter for the bald cypress trees. After a short uphill walk, you'll reach the campsite, offering a bird's-eye view of the Yehliu Geopark. The unbeatable sea view is truly refreshing!!!

Steamed Beef Noodles + Nougat recommended! Delicious! A great place to eat while watching planes! Lots of Marvel figures to admire nearby too!

#2025-04-19 #FoothillDeerFarm #SambarDeerHouse I've been here before, and since I was passing by, I took my little Amber for a walk. The park isn't particularly large; it's mainly a place where sambar deer are raised to produce velvet antler. This time, many new animals were added, including capybaras, guinea pigs, raccoons, rabbits, lemurs, and sika deer, allowing for close observation and feeding. There are also DIY activities inside, and the food options are mainly fast food and meals for adults. We went directly to the Foothill commercial area for dinner. Inside, we just bought a cup of coffee and a deer antler egg to use up our voucher.
