The most special part is that you can see Tyrannosaurus and Sauropod skeletons on display. At Shugu Farm, you can get up close to feed over 20 kinds of small animals like capybaras, sheep, deer, and ostriches. The most special one is the porcupine. Little Amber also tried the shaking dinosaur, but Little Amber told her dad she was scared, yet she still participated very earnestly.

Saturday, October 10, 2026 Double Ten National Day holiday, three days and two nights. Booked a hotel in Tainan on ezTravel. First time staying at #Parapo Hotel Chihkan Branch - $5,423 for two nights, breakfast not included, found the cheapest. Need to reserve a parking spot, but it costs $150 per night, $300 for two nights. Also reserved a baby bathtub and crib - a bit small, comes with a bed rail, pillows, sheets, and a thick duvet. No wardrobe or hangers, only an old-fashioned clothes hanging rod. Has a refrigerator. My husband said the parking spot was extremely difficult to park in. Parking is only allowed after 3 PM. After 5 PM, when the manager leaves, you need to get a universal remote from the front desk. To park in the designated lot, you have to open and close the iron gate yourself. Walk back to the hotel (2 minutes) and return the universal remote. Some places charge overnight fees twice, but this one only charges once. The hotel is a renovated old building. During the holiday, the windows are very small but at least they exist, they are traditional windows with limited soundproofing and insulation. There's a water dispenser only on the first floor. If you go out and leave the counter, they suggest depositing your key for $500 to avoid losing it. The bed is quite good, and the room is clean. But the body wash and shampoo are sandalwood 🤣 felt purified after showering. Overall, staying for two nights was good for resting and sleeping. There are many places to eat, drink, and shop nearby, so the amenities are quite good.

King Oyster Mushroom said they wanted to go to the aquarium before the long weekend, so we took advantage of the Double Ten holiday for a half-day trip to Keelung! It was drizzling on the way, but the weather cleared up in Keelung with a beautiful blue sky and sea! We arrived at 8:30 AM and parking was easy to find. We only visited sections A and C; section B's VR experience requires participants to be 7 years old or 110 cm tall. The stingrays have a unique way of greeting, and the horseshoe crabs were mating, so it wasn't suitable for children. You can also draw your own picture and scan it to project it onto the big screen (you can choose between fish and jellyfish designs). Afterward, we took some photos at the Dinosaur AR Ecological Park but didn't buy tickets. We also saw the Bear Heart Steel and Giant Rock photo frames. Little Amber wanted to see Uncle Koxinga, the Dutch ruins walls, and the white watchtower and Japanese-style house renovated by Japan. We also strolled through the old street and started getting endlessly fed shrimp crackers. Anping Pottery is where my wife's family, who makes the signboard 'Lion-Dog' (Jian Shi), is from. The main reason for returning to Anping Pottery this time was to let little Amber experience making handprints and footprints to commemorate her upcoming second birthday.

My first time 'glamping' (pretend camping)! Stayed overnight in a windmill house (you can also bring your own tent to set up). Ate so much BBQ (extra charge required). Could play in the water, but unfortunately, my king oyster mushroom didn't like it. You can also feed goats and do a DIY seashell photo frame. Did you guys know Miaoli has a department store? It's also a hotel! It even has an amusement park with a roller coaster and a drop tower. The best part is it's indoors, but man, it's expensive. We usually just end up playing at the arcade. I used to play the Attack on Titan game here back in the day.

I always stop at the Xiluo Service Area when heading down south. It's right in the middle, I need to change little Amber's diaper, and I need to refuel my energy with some food. Plus, we can grab a bite and check out souvenirs and gifts after getting out of the car.

Great for a trip with kids. The entrance ticket can be used for a 150 NTD discount on shopping or dining. Many facilities within the park, such as the ball pit, ride-on cars, old-fashioned marble game, ring toss (consecutive hits can be exchanged for small prizes), Jenga, and bottle fishing, are free (only the bumper cars require payment). You can also observe the production process of Baumkuchen and frosted cookies. Outdoors, there's an ecological park and 'Sound of Nature' (speaking at a designated spot creates an echo), offering both education and fun. However, since it started with cookies, the food isn't highly recommended (the Bolognese sauce was too salty, and the pesto chicken was too tough)! My king oyster mushroom (referring to a character or pet) loved the ball pit the most; it seems ball pits are really attractive to children.

The resort is very large with a variety of amusement facilities. Besides the indoor children's play area, there are outdoor facilities like sky biking, grass sledding, archery, soccer, ring toss, BB gun shooting, slingshot, giant pinball, giant basketball, and pedal boats for kids to burn off energy! There are also indoor and outdoor swimming pools (with water slides) to play in! The exploration experience area had age restrictions, so 'Xingbaogu' (child's nickname) didn't get to try it. Xingbaogu even wore a cute and funny butterfly outfit! It comes with a 1-night, 2-meal all-you-can-eat buffet! The food was also quite good! I forgot to bring mosquito repellent, but luckily the front desk provided it for free. However, I still got bitten after applying it...
