Earthquake Wake Up

"Earthquake Wake Up" is a computer software that issues an alert when the estimated intensity of an earthquake reaches a standard. It's quite useful and can also be found on YouTube's Taiwan Earthquake Monitoring live streams. Just don't let it pop up when I'm playing games:D Homepage - Earthquake Wake Up! This year's typhoons

This year's typhoons were all looking good at first (the ones that formed in the Pacific and headed west). Initially, I was excited to see them develop nice-looking eyes, but they all turned out to be trash 😭

Me during a typhoon

1. Oh, a typhoon's coming. Let's check the weather agency. 2. Went to watch the typhoon monitoring live stream (Taiwan Earthquake Monitoring). 3. Is it a holiday? 4. Nope, damn it / Yep, awesome. 4-1. Went to Facebook to scroll around. 5. Gale and torrential rain / No wind, no rain.

My feelings about typhoon holidays 🌀

When I was a student and heard about an incoming typhoon, the most anticipated thing was: Will we get a day off tomorrow? 🤣 Then, after entering the workforce, I was shocked to discover at my first job: What!? Typhoon holidays don't mean I get to take a day off!? Due to the nature of my work, I had to take shifts during typhoons, sometimes even going out in the storm to handle situations. And even after the typhoon passed, it wasn't over; there were always various post-disaster tasks to handle. Especially since my work area back then included many mountainous regions, heavy rain meant worrying about road closures, falling rocks, and checking on people living in more remote areas. I used to think, 'Living in the mountains when I'm old sounds so peaceful~' After a few years of work, all I think now is: Please, everyone, live somewhere with convenient transportation when you get old 🤣 Later, I changed jobs and no longer had to work during typhoons. When the first typhoon hit after that, I occasionally thought about the mountain roads from my previous job: 'I wonder if they're okay now?' Now, several years have passed, and the memories of working during typhoons have gradually faded. I've finally started looking forward to typhoon holidays again 😆 My wish now is: It's great to have a day off, but preferably with mild wind and rain, everyone safe, and no damage whatsoever.

Most Memorable Typhoon/Earthquake

They say there are four legendary "monster typhoons" that invaded Taiwan. I personally remember Typhoon Wayne the most. Not only did it make landfall and then leave three times, but its path also looked a lot like Taiwan (in my opinion). As for earthquakes, it has to be the 921 one. Need I say more? The epicenter was in the neighboring county, the ground shook violently. It was devastating.
