On October 11, 2026, a shocking random murder and arson case occurred in Bade District, Taoyuan City, Taiwan. A 25-year-old woman, Ms. Lu, was returning to her rented apartment around 4 AM when she was followed and attacked by a 36-year-old man, Mr. Lin. She was fatally stabbed in the neck, and the suspect subsequently set a fire in an attempt to destroy evidence. Ms. Lu worked in property leasing and management and had no prior connection to the suspect. According to investigations by police and prosecutors, Mr. Lin was allegedly under the influence of etomidate, commonly known as 'zombie weed,' before the incident. In a state of mental confusion, he lay in wait at the alley entrance for an extended period. He followed Ms. Lu into her home as she returned and attacked her. After the murder, to destroy evidence, Mr. Lin set fire to the body inside the apartment. He then climbed to a neighboring residence and started multiple fires, attempting to create a series of blazes to mislead rescue efforts by firefighters. After extinguishing the fires, emergency services discovered Ms. Lu had a knife wound to her neck and extensive burn injuries. Despite rescue efforts, she was pronounced dead at the hospital. Upon his arrest, Mr. Lin appeared disoriented and coldly claimed his motive was 'I was just angry.' Investigations revealed that Mr. Lin had worked as an ambulance technician for seven years but recently became involved with drugs and quit. He also had a criminal record including theft and assault. Prosecutors determined he is suspected of serious crimes including robbery-murder, arson, and trespassing, and that he poses a flight and evidence destruction risk. A request for his detention and interrogation was granted by the court. They won't give him the death penalty anyway, right? Because some 'dinosaur judge' in a previous murder case said that if you don't kill three people, the circumstances aren't that serious 🙄 Yeah, why cover up that trash's face? I found someone online who posted his face, thanks to that brave soul, may they have peace forever 🙏

《Hiding My Affection in My Left Ear》 Chen Yu'an had a secret: whenever he walked beside Xu Zhixia, he would subtly slow his pace. Because she always liked to walk close to him, their shoulders occasionally brushing. If he sped up even a little, she would fall back to her original distance. One day, Zhixia suddenly asked, "Do you walk really slowly?" Yu'an guiltily denied it. She didn't call him out, just shared one side of her earphones with him, playing the song they listened to on their first date. Later, they started dating. Whenever they took a car or went for a walk, Zhixia would always put an earphone in his left ear and wear the other one herself. Yu'an had always thought it was just her habit. Until his birthday, when she gave him a new pair of earphones, smiling and saying, "You won't have to share one anymore." He, however, carefully put the earphones away and took out a handwritten card. "But I like sharing one with you." Zhixia blushed and asked, "Why?" "Because every time you lean in, I can pretend I just want to hear a little better." She smiled and leaned her shoulder against his. "Then you don't have to pretend anymore." On the way home that day, Yu'an still walked slowly. But this time, Zhixia took his hand first. <When you like someone, you even wish that walking a little slower could make the path a little longer.>

《The Postcard That Was Never Sent》 After retiring, Dad developed a habit of sending postcards to his daughter every month. The postcards didn't contain anything special. Sometimes it was about a new noodle shop that opened near their home, other times about the potted plant on the balcony that had finally bloomed. They always ended with: "It's getting cold, remember to wear an extra layer." His daughter worked in another city and always said she'd come home once things got less busy, but she kept missing the scheduled dates. Then one winter, she received a call from the hospital. Dad had passed away suddenly. A half-written postcard lay on his bedside table. When she returned home to sort through his belongings, she found dozens of postcards neatly arranged in a drawer, all addressed, but never mailed. The date on the last one was the day before Dad was admitted to the hospital. It read: "I bought your favorite oranges today and put them in the fridge. You said you'd be back this week, so I didn't eat them, saving them for you." His daughter opened the refrigerator. Only a few shriveled oranges remained. She sat on the floor and cried for a long time. Later, she began sending a postcard every month to her old home address, writing about her recent life, work troubles, and what she ate that day. She knew no one would reply. Yet, after writing each one, she would always add a final sentence: "It's getting cold, Dad. You remember to wear an extra layer too." <Some words left unsaid aren't forgotten, they're just lost because there's no one left to hear them.>

The Brown-cheeked Fulvetta is a common resident bird in Taiwan, mainly inhabiting mid-to-low altitude broad-leaved forests, secondary forests, and especially bamboo groves. It is small and its most recognizable features are its reddish-brown forehead and cheeks, olive-green back, and black markings on its throat. It is very active, quickly hopping among thin branches to catch insects, and will also hover in the air to peck at small bugs on leaves. In winter, they sometimes form foraging teams with other birds like the Green-backed Warbler, searching for food together in the forest. 🌿 Fun Fact Brown-cheeked Fulvettas are not only fast but also good at 'hover-and-peck': they can briefly hover next to branches and leaves, pecking at insects on foliage or twigs. Next time you're strolling through a bamboo forest in the mountains, keep an eye out for small, fast-moving figures and faint chirps among the leaves and branches.

In evolutionary biology, Darwin's theory of natural selection posits that 'individuals tend to survive and pass on their genes.' So why have humans evolved an altruistic instinct to 'sacrifice their lives' for others? Kin Selection and the Altruism Gene: Biologist William Hamilton proposed the famous 'Hamilton's rule' (rB > C). When the genetic benefit (B) of altruistic behavior to the recipient, multiplied by the coefficient of relatedness (r), is greater than the cost (C) incurred by the altruist, this 'self-sacrificing' gene is preserved in the population. Oxytocin and 'In-group Favoritism': Neuroscience research has found that when we witness a peer making a selfless sacrifice, our brains release large amounts of 'Oxytocin' and 'endogenous opioids.' This not only evokes strong emotions and group cohesion but also provides a psychological pleasure known as 'Moral Elevation,' motivating us to protect the group.

As of now, the Taiwan stock market has dropped 1058 points. Is everyone okay? It's time to support the market.

✨ Stop just making dumplings! Fry your dumpling wrappers and instantly turn them into crispy snacks. They're crunchy, look great, and taste delicious! 🔷🌸 Rose Stack 4-5 dumpling wrappers, sprinkle a little sugar or sesame seeds in the middle, roll them up, cut in half, arrange into petal shapes, and deep-fry until golden. 🔷🎀 Bow Tie Pinch the middle of a dumpling wrapper, spread the ends slightly to form a bow tie shape, and deep-fry until crispy. 🔷🥨 Pretzel Twist Cut dumpling wrappers into long strips, stack two strips together, twist them into a pretzel shape, and deep-fry until golden. 🔷🪢 Goldfish Fill dumpling wrappers with a small amount of meat or shrimp filling, shape them into small fish, and deep-fry until the skin is crispy. 🔷🥠 Coin Purse Place a little cheese, ham, or corn in the center of a dumpling wrapper, fold the four corners towards the middle and pinch them together, then deep-fry into golden coin purses. 🔷🌼 Flower Basket Place dumpling wrappers into a small mold, arrange them into a flower basket shape, deep-fry to set the shape, then remove. They can be used to hold salads, fruits, or small snacks. 💡 Tips for Frying Dumpling Wrappers Control the oil temperature around 160–170°C (320–340°F). Frying over medium-low heat makes it easier to set the shape. The wrappers are very thin, so remove them as soon as they color. They will become crispier once cooled. This looks really simple, but I wonder how it tastes. I wonder if I can make it in an air fryer... I want to try it, but... I'm too lazy. I'll just save it and try it later when I feel like it 🫣

Affected by the four consecutive declines in US semiconductor stocks, institutional investors predict that the Taiwan stock market may retest the 49,000-point mark in the short term. However, driven by the FAU certification effect of Largan Precision and positive news from Evergreen's investor conference, the optical and shipping sectors are showing relative support. The market is now awaiting further outlook from TSMC's investor conference this week.
