One China?
Actually, the term 'Chinese nation' didn't exist in ancient times either. It was invented by Liang Qichao in the late Qing Dynasty. The word 'China' also didn't exist in ancient times, and there's no single China spanning 5,000 years that has 'owned' Taiwan since ancient times. 👍 China is only 76 years old, the Qing Dynasty was over 200 years, Taiwan 115 years... All so-called Chinese people worldwide are older than China. We Taiwanese are not a part of them. If they insist on calling us a province of theirs, let's be clear: don't be Chinese. Are you still living in ancient times? Still talking about ethnicity? Hilarious! You don't even know how much you've mixed, maybe you even have alien blood! Most Taiwanese have Taiwanese indigenous blood. If we're talking about ethnicity, we are all Taiwanese indigenous people!

I agree with the first half. History is like that. The term 'Chinese nation' was indeed invented in the late Qing dynasty, and our Taiwan is now a sovereign and independent Republic of China, not subordinate to the regime on the other side. We were never 'one province' of theirs. But simplifying Chinese history to only 76 years is directly erasing the 115 years of legitimate Republic of China history! They've only been around for 70-something years; our Republic of China was established earlier. We practice democratic constitutionalism in Taiwan, worship Mazu, celebrate the Dragon Boat Festival, and use traditional Chinese characters. These are all assets of our Chinese culture integrated with Taiwanese local culture. We oppose the totalitarianism on the other side, but we don't need to discard our own country's historical and cultural roots along with it🤨
