The Giraffe's Neck

Although giraffes have the world's longest necks, the number of bones in their necks is surprisingly the same as humans, with seven cervical vertebrae. Almost all mammals, whether it's the massive blue whale, the exceptionally long-necked giraffe, or even small humans, have seven cervical vertebrae. The reason giraffes' necks are so long is because each of their cervical vertebrae is extremely large and elongated, with a single bone measuring over 30 centimeters.
