How to play is simple: One person is the 'Soup Master'. They know the full truth of the story but only tell you the beginning and the end. This is called the 'Soup Surface'. The most classic bowl (question) is: 'A man walks into a restaurant, orders a bowl of turtle soup, takes one sip, and kills himself. Why?' The rest of the people act as detectives. You can only keep asking 'Is it...?' to guess, and the Soup Master can only reply 'Yes, no, or it's not important'. With these yes/no questions, you slowly piece together the missing process in the middle, figuring out the complete cause and effect of the story! The fun part of this game is that your imagination will go to outer space. The most serious people usually ask the most absurd questions, and you'll end up laughing like crazy the whole time. Plus, one bowl of soup can be quick (5 minutes) or take half an hour of arguing, making it perfect for icebreakers at gatherings, camping, or while waiting for a car.
