Chapter 17: The Puzzle is Complete At 12:15 AM, Wang Jing'an learned that the last place Gao Zhenwei was seen was an institution that used to be a counseling center for children. Police found his records in the archives. Gao Zhenwei had actively sought help, stating that his father would harm his younger brother and hoping someone would protect Gao Zhenxiang. In his final interview, he mentioned "someone was willing to help them," with only the codename "K" left on the file. Wang Jing'an grew increasingly uneasy. If Gao Zhenwei had been protecting his brother all along, then the night Gao Zhenxiang remembered might not be the truth. Police also found a retired counselor, who produced a drawing by Gao Zhenxiang at age eight: two children stood inside and outside a wall, with "Brother will come back" written beside them. The date was October 19, 2016, even though Gao Zhenxiang was already hospitalized then. Late at night, as Wang Jing'an was reorganizing all the clues, she received an anonymous message: "The puzzle is almost complete." Seconds later, another message appeared: "But you've got one piece wrong." Just as she was about to contact Officer Zhou, three knocks echoed from behind the wall. Knock. Knock. Knock. A deep male voice said: "Teacher Wang, you've finally found this place." Wang Jing'an asked, "Who are you?" After a moment of silence, the man replied: "I'm the first person to know Gao Zhenwei isn't dead." Wang Jing'an's heart skipped a beat. "K?" He didn't answer, leaving only his final words: "Tomorrow, you'll know where Gao Jianguo went." The voice vanished. And the last piece of the puzzle finally approached the truth.
