A Place I Used to Live
I actually move around a lot for work or studies. Before, I moved to a place that held a festival every few years. At that time, the entire town was restricted to eating only vegetarian food. Everything except for convenience stores selling meat lunchboxes only sold vegetarian options, which was agonizing for someone who doesn't eat vegetarian. I endured it for 2 weeks without eating meat and lost a few pounds. Having religious beliefs is good, but it shouldn't be enforced like this. Even outsiders had to follow the vegetarian diet. This feels like putting the cart before the horse. The original intent of faith is to bless health, not to control people above religion.

I don't really like this kind of forced stuff.

There's nothing you can do to force them to stop, if the shops want to sell meat, they can't be stopped. I guess everyone's faith is just really strong 😊 I live in Shulin, and they hold a religious ceremony there once every few years. I fast for a week then. I asked the owner of the BBQ stall I often bought from if she would be open. She immediately said, 'Of course I will, or I'll starve!'

AuthorTheir faith is indeed quite firm. Back then, even the chain restaurant Guo Tie only sold noodles with soy sauce.
