[Daily] My Orchid Journey (2) Lingering Warmth in the Corner: Faded Blooms and New Buds

🪴 After the plants settled onto the balcony, time seemed to slow down all at once. The urgency of constantly rushing between calls and visits, driven by performance numbers and deadlines, has abruptly shifted to the quiet regularity of meticulously crafting words and calculating accounts day after day. With a slower rhythm, my mind has found breathing room, and my vision has narrowed from the bustling street view to the small patch of this balcony. Finally, I have the time to closely observe the tiny breaths of a plant in the light and shadow. When I first took it in, it was quite disheveled—its broad leaves covered in water stains and a thin layer of dust, with pruned flower stems sticking out askew, bearing the weariness of a lively exit. Back then, I simply placed it in a corner of the balcony. After work each day, I'd casually scoop a small bowl of water, wring out a soft cloth, and gently wipe each thick leaf to remove the dust, giving it space for ventilation and alternating dryness and moisture. Unexpectedly, the days slipped by in this quiet wiping and watering. After a few weeks, next to the withered flower stems, several side branches had grown out at an angle, densely adorned with plump, yellowish-green flower buds. They looked like shy little golden bells, quietly waiting for their own season. My uncle gave me its spent body, and I offered it companionship in my daily life. Yet, it repaid me with a whole plant poised for new life, nurtured by time. As my fingertips brush against the thick leaf surface, that substantial, cool touch seems to soothe away the restlessness I felt from life's pulls, as if it too is being smoothed over by this newly nourished greenery. I'm not in a hurry to force it to bloom. In this small, well-ventilated space, we each find our place, quietly waiting for the flowers to open.
