Taichung North District Foodie Gems (My Personal List)

Master Fried Chicken is my go-to (it's not greasy, they have an oil-removing machine). It's dry and crispy, so it's fine even if you eat a lot. It's great with tea drinks or wheat juice. Recommended by the neighborhood chief on Beiping Road: Zhenbeifang Breakfast Shop's soup dumplings and egg crepes (a 30-year-old establishment). ShuShuLe on Beiping Road (vegetarian fried snacks, made from soy or mushroom fiber products). It has that old-school, grandma's-breakfast-ham-pancake vibe. Great with congee. Near Section 1, Zhongqing Road, close to Tianjin Business District and the elegant FamilyMart store. Delicious, but the owner works alone so you'll have to wait. Worth the wait for this tasty treat...
