Leaving work at 6 PM is considered 'early'?!
As soon as the clock struck 6, I stepped out of the company doors. The sun hadn't even fully set, and there was still a faint glow in the sky! In that moment, the corners of my mouth couldn't help but turn up dramatically, and my heart overflowed with immense gratitude and happiness: "OMG! I'm getting off work so early today! I'm so lucky!" However, on the way to the bus stop, I suddenly snapped back to reality— "Wait, something's not right... 5 PM was the normal quitting time, wasn't it?! What was I so happy about?!" This is the terrifying after-effect of working overtime for half a month straight. When your life has been brainwashed for so long by "8 PM is the minimum, 9 PM is the norm, 10 PM is daily life," your brain automatically classifies it as a "gift from the heavens" if you manage to leave the office within the normal regulated hours just one day. This is truly a unique "Stockholm Syndrome" for us workers! * Feelings about leaving work for the past half-month: Seeing the moon is expected, seeing the sun is a miracle. * Feelings about leaving work today: Getting home at 6 PM = getting half a day off = Is it my birthday today?! But speaking of which, the commute home with a view of the sunset is truly wonderful. Tonight, no speeding, no defying physics – I'm going to walk home with the most elegant 'uncle's pace' to reward this rare 'normal life'! 🌅🍺✨
