Sleepless Mountain (26)

They say that when people encounter avalanches or fall down mountains during climbs, their bodies are often found in pieces. Especially since the human neck is very fragile, it's not uncommon to find them decapitated. But to be dropped all alone on a rocky ledge on a snowy slope, is truly heartbreaking. "I'll take her back. Even if it's just her head, I'll take her back to Japan." Mita said, and then unclipped his own safety rope, walking towards that unsafe, steep snowy slope. However, Chen Ming grabbed Mita by the collar and threw him onto the snow. "We'll go together." Chen Ming secured Mita's safety rope. The four of them walked to the edge of the snowy slope, drove their ice axes deep into the snow, took safety precautions, and then slowly moved sideways across the slope. "Kiyoko, we're going home. Let's go back to Japan together." Mita, with trembling hands, gently embraced Kiyoko's head from behind and slowly lifted it. But then... "Ahhhhhhh~~~~~" Mita screamed on the spot. Because it wasn't a head at all, but the entire scalp with hair attached, which had been ripped off and was hanging on a protruding part of the rock ledge. Chen Ming and I were stunned on the spot. This way of dying is too cruel. Even if it was an untimely death, this is too bizarre, too unnatural, and not how a person should die. There was no dignity whatsoever. "No, no. It shouldn't be like this." I muttered to myself and stepped back. Suddenly, my foot caught on something, and I fell heavily onto the ground.
