Sleepless Mountain (32) - Complete

As we were about to part ways at the end, Uncle Ishikawa seemed to recall something. "By the way, Do you guys know? Local residents, to avoid offending the gods, Don't call this mountain by its name. They call this mountain Sleepless Mountain. Meaning, Those who ascend this mountain, Even after death, cannot find freedom. They must become servants of this mountain for seven years, And only in the eighth year can they truly find peace." After parting, My friend and I both felt a chill run down our spines. Every little rustle of the wind could scare us half to death. So we picked a karaoke place, Went in, sang songs to boost our courage until dawn. Even while singing, we still felt creeped out. It wasn't until after sunrise that we shakily returned to our lodging. In the end, we both came to a realization: Climbing snow-capped mountains in the death zone above 6,000 meters Is simply an act of seeking death. I'd rather die than be dragged to go there again....... (End) *The creepiest part is the story's mention at the end that if you die on this mountain, you can only be reborn after eight years... Coincidentally, the 1991 Meili Snow Mountains disaster occurred in early January 1991, and the belongings and bodies of the deceased climbing team were found in July 1998 on a glacier at an altitude of 3800 meters.
