Ghost Story

The Fourth Person in the Elevator I got off work late and entered the elevator, where a man and a woman were already inside. As the elevator descended, a man in a black suit got in on the third floor, head bowed, standing in the corner. The elevator continued down. I happened to glance at the mirrored wall and was shocked to see – there were only three reflections! The man in the black suit had no reflection. I froze, cold sweat dripping down my back. The woman next to me seemed to notice too, tightly gripping her boyfriend's hand. The man's face turned pale, his fingers subtly moving towards the door close button. 'Ding.' We reached the first floor, and the doors slowly opened. The man in the black suit stepped out first, disappearing down the hallway. The three of us rushed out of the elevator. The woman asked the building manager, her voice trembling, "Did you see that man in the black suit who just left?" The manager looked confused. "What black suit? From the beginning to the end, only the three of you came out." We looked at each other – just how many people were in that elevator?
