After breakfast this morning, I felt like tidying up my appearance and decided to drop by the affordable PX hair salon. When I got there, wow, there were at least 7 people in line! But as a mature uncle, what's a little queue? I confidently pulled a 100-dollar bill from my wallet and headed to the ticket machine, ready to pay and get a number. I inserted the bill into the slot – it got stuck, then spat it out. 'Hmm? Maybe this bill is too old,' I thought. I tried a newer one – it was rejected again. I started a tug-of-war with the machine, smoothing the bill, folding it, trying different orientations, even gently pressing it with my finger, treating it like a revered ancestor. But the ticket machine remained cold and ruthless, rejecting bill after bill. Just as sweat beaded on my forehead and the eyes of the people behind me started focusing on me, the barber finally walked over coldly and said in a voice loud enough for everyone to hear: 'Sir... the ticket machine is broken. There's a notice posted over there, could you please take a look?' I followed his finger and saw a huge "Out of Order" sign plastered on the machine. In that moment, the air in the entire PX seemed to freeze.
