When Water Meets Success

Today, I decided to show off my domestic skills by changing the water filter on my dispenser. I very clearly, correctly, and confidently unplugged the main power unit! "Hmph, electrical safety first. Even this old guy knows that!" I thought to myself. Then, with elegant flair, I took out the new filter and skillfully removed the old one— And the next second, WHOOSH—!!! A powerful gush of water erupted, instantly flooding the entire countertop! I stood there stunned for two seconds, watching the runaway water, before it suddenly hit me: Wait... I only remembered to turn off the 'electricity,' I completely forgot to turn off the 'water' ahhhhhh! In that moment, I was frantically searching for the water valve, desperately soaking up water with a towel, wiping the floor, and rescuing my water-splashed kitchenware. I was a complete headless chicken, utterly pathetic. After mopping the floor and cleaning up the battlefield, I collapsed on the floor, exhausted, and looked at the newly installed filter... * Comforting myself: It's okay, it's okay. This old man calls this 'when water meets success'! My luck is totally refilled this time! (But why are my eyes getting a little wet... *sniffle* 😭) * Today's realization: Electricity and water, turn off the power but not the water, and you're basically setting up your own water park at home. Does anyone else have a funny experience where you did half the steps correctly but messed everything up by forgetting the most crucial one?
