Clocking Out on Time!
For us low-level corporate drones, the period from the end of one month to the middle of the next is basically a pilgrimage through hell. For a solid half month, I was working overtime every day to the point of questioning my existence. The scariest part wasn't the overtime itself, but sneaking back home like a spy in the middle of the night—trying not to make noise with my shoes, not putting down my keys too heavily, terrified of waking up the missus. But! T! O! D! A! Y! is different! After battling through more than half a month, today I finally broke through! The old man grabbed his briefcase right at 5 PM and clocked out with elegance and style! Walking on the way home, even the air felt sweet. No more heart-stopping glances at my phone, no more rehearsing survival guides for getting lectured. Today, I can finally push open the door with pride and loudly declare: "I'm home!" * Today's realization: Clocking out on time doesn't give you freedom, it gives a corporate slave the dignity to stand tall at home! * Social death index: 0% (Today is the old man's victory day, dignity level maxed out!) * Soul-searching question: When you successfully 'clock out on time at 5 PM', what's the first thing you want to do? 🎉🍻🏠🕺

It's the era of working like a horse, so clocking out on time is really great.

I get off work around 5 PM almost every day, and I don't really feel anything special about it.
