NHI Fees of 7.83 Million, Pretends to Be Poor While Enjoying Life! 'Part-timer' Flies Abroad 13 Times, Gets Detained, Mother Res
Accumulating National Health Insurance fees and still frequently traveling abroad for enjoyment? The Taipei Branch Office has uncovered a case of malicious non-payment. Mr. Feng, the head of an environmental company, owes a staggering 7.83 million NTD. He concealed his assets and refused to pay, leading to a court-ordered detention. Two days later, his mother urgently brought 3 million NTD in cash to arrange a payment plan, securing her son's release. The Taipei Branch Office pointed out that during the period of non-payment, Mr. Feng had no assets under his name, with his monthly wage garnishment only amounting to over 3,000 NTD. He claimed inability to repay, only willing to pay 6,000 NTD per month. However, a review of his credit card records revealed that Mr. Feng had traveled abroad 13 times after accumulating the debt, spending on flight tickets, expensive car rentals, and five-star hotel stays. He also purchased high-end camping gear, trendy sneakers, and jewelry, while paying tens of thousands of NTD in insurance premiums monthly – a level of luxury that was astonishing. Even more outrageous, Mr. Feng's family has long undertaken government cleaning procurement contracts worth tens of millions, even over 400 million NTD. Yet, he falsely claimed to the enforcement officer that he was merely 'a part-timer receiving a meager salary,' clearly involving false reporting. The Taipei Branch Office deemed Mr. Feng eligible for detention and applied for it on September 15th, which was approved. Two days after Mr. Feng's detention, his mother, unable to bear seeing her only son imprisoned, brought 3 million NTD in cash on September 17th to arrange a payment plan, along with a guarantor with sufficient assets. The branch office issued a release order the same day. The Taipei Branch Office sternly urges the public and corporate executives to honestly fulfill their public monetary payment obligations and not to evade enforcement by concealing assets, otherwise, they will face compulsory measures such as detention, which is not worth the loss. Wow, 13 trips abroad, huh? There are so many of these tax-dodging cockroaches... and so few actually get chased for their taxes 😑

This kind of malicious evasion of obligations seriously undermines the credibility of administrative enforcement. It's truly unacceptable to exploit legal loopholes to enjoy a luxurious lifestyle. I hope law enforcement agencies will continue to investigate thoroughly and uphold social justice.

If you have money, you can travel anywhere, but if you don't, you have to pay. The fines should be doubled and increased.
