Car Owners, Pay Attention! Do You Need to Signal When Following a Curved Road? Latest Court Ruling Revealed, Many Still Foolishl

• Court Overturns Fine: Mr. Li was fined for not signaling when turning right on an approach ramp in Taoyuan and Sanchong, but the court overturned the 1,200 NTD fine. The judge ruled that the vehicle was "naturally following the curve of the road" and did not change lanes, thus not constituting a "turning action" as defined by law. • Signaling Key Points and Legal Timing: Turn signals are intended to indicate intentions. Drivers should distinguish between road curves and active lane changes; regulations require signaling when turning at intersections, changing lanes, starting, stopping, overtaking, and making U-turns. • Fines and Appeals: Failing to signal on regular roads incurs a fine of 1,200 to 3,600 NTD, while on highways, it's 3,000 to 6,000 NTD. In case of disputes, you can prepare supporting evidence and file an appeal with the adjudication office.
