Set Off Again - Richie Jen, Ah Niu (2001 Baseball World Cup Theme Song)

Vocals: Richie Jen, Ah Niu (Tien Chuan Chen) Composer: David Chen Lyricist: David Chen, Chih-Ping Chou Arranger: Ni Fang Lai Producer: Chih-Ping Chou Release Year: 2001 With the Asian Games happening recently, while watching baseball games, I'd like to recommend the classic Taiwanese baseball anthem - 'Set Off Again'. Although I'm just a casual fan myself, this electrifying song is guaranteed to touch your heart whenever its melody plays. It's very suitable for many game situations. This song also has significance from its specific time context. Before 2001, Taiwan's professional baseball league had just gone through a match-fixing scandal, leading to a generally gloomy atmosphere and a sharp decline in ticket sales. The 34th Baseball World Cup was held in Taiwan in 2001. An opening victory, defeating Italy 6:1, helped bring baseball fans back. The team then advanced to the top four, including a win against South Korea. In the third-place playoff, they shut out Japan 3:0, ultimately winning the bronze medal 🎉. While not the championship, defeating Japan and South Korea, coupled with Chang Chih-chia's complete game shutout and Chen Chin-feng's home run in the bronze medal game, were all memorable moments for baseball fans. Additional note: The Taiwanese team won the 2024 WBSC Premier12 👍, marking Taiwan's first-ever championship in a top-tier world event. The entire song perfectly reflects the situation of Taiwanese baseball at the time. The lyrics describe how, no matter how difficult the circumstances, persevering and climbing out of the depths will eventually lead to a brighter future. I hope this song can bring you positive energy 💪.
