You're kidding me, right?!

The weather is so hot, it's melting this old dude into liquid. Walking along, I prayed devoutly in my heart: 'Please, please, let the bus I'm waiting for show up quickly!' Third stop to go: Staring my eyes out, but not a single bus in sight on the road. Second stop to go: I humbly calculated in my heart – 'It's okay if it shows up now! Even riding it for just one stop is a win, at least I can feel the AC for a minute!' The result... still completely empty. Fine! I've completely given up hope and decided to resign myself to this scorching path on foot. And then! Just as I was nearing the last stop, about to end this torture, someone waved at the bus stop ahead. A bus elegantly approached, stopped, opened its doors... OMG! It... It waaaaas the bus I'd been waiting for all along!!! (Screaming at the sky) Standing just a few steps away from the stop, I watched as that bus, with its familiar route number shining and cool air conditioning blowing, picked up passengers right before my eyes and then drove off gallantly... In that moment, my heart grew colder than if I hadn't eaten bamboo shoots. Lesson learned today: Buses are like love. The more desperately you wait, the less likely they are to come. The moment you decide to give up, they show up at the final stop to mock you! Social embarrassment index: 95% (Standing in front of the last stop, staring blankly at the bus within arm's reach, sweat and tears indistinguishable on my face) Soul-searching question: Has anyone else had this kind of 'bus shows up only after you've walked to the last stop' frustrating experience?
