Comic "The Warrior of Peculiar Abilities" Review 🎮⚔️

Adapted from a Korean web novel, the comic version has concluded with a total of 88 chapters and is currently available to read in Traditional Chinese on LINE WEBTOON. I saw this in the list of series ending in October, and since it's scheduled to switch to "Completed Chapters Unlocked" mode on October 16th, I figured I'd check it out while it's still free to read~ After reading the synopsis, I found the premise quite interesting and felt like it's the type of story I'd enjoy! The protagonist is a veteran free-to-play gamer of the game "Arcane Seoul" who one day transmigrates into the game world, becoming the weakest N-rank character, "The Golden Warrior." Fortunately, as an experienced player, he's well-versed in the game world and its various "peculiar abilities," and begins using his game knowledge to find ways to become stronger. I've read about 20 chapters so far, and overall it's pretty good. The process of the protagonist using his game experience to overcome challenges is quite fun, but I feel like it's missing a certain hook that makes me want to binge-read it. Perhaps it's because, aside from the protagonist, the other characters feel too much like "NPCs." While they are indeed NPCs, many transmigration-to-game-world stories gradually flesh out their NPCs, even having them perform actions they wouldn't have in the original game. In this series, the protagonist himself maintains such a strong "player perspective" that it's hard for me to get attached to the other characters, making it feel like I'm just watching the protagonist play a game. I plan to read a bit more before it switches to completed chapters unlocked, but I have a feeling I might end up putting it down halfway through 🤣
