Inside the Closet

It was 2 AM. I was lying in bed when I suddenly heard my phone vibrating from inside the closet. *Vvvv—* I sat up. My phone was the only one in the room, and it was charging on my nightstand. The closet vibrated again. I picked up my phone and checked for notifications. Nothing. “*Vvvv—*” The sound came from the closet again. I didn't dare get closer, just shone my phone's flashlight towards it. The closet door was shut tight. I tried to reassure myself, thinking maybe some electronic device was just low on battery. Just then, a woman's voice came from inside the closet. “Found it.” My whole body froze instantly. I lived in a studio apartment. I was alone. I rushed to the door and grabbed the handle. It wouldn't open. Behind me, I heard the sound of the closet door being pushed open. *Creeeak—* I didn't dare turn around. Footsteps sounded behind me. One step. Two steps. Three steps. The footsteps stopped right behind me. Then, a cold hand touched my shoulder. The woman whispered in my ear: “Your phone.” I looked down at my hand. The phone was still there. The next second, my phone vibrated again in the room. *Vvvv—* This time, the sound was coming from my bed. I slowly turned around. The screen of the phone 'charging on the nightstand' lit up. The caller ID displayed only four words: “Person in Closet”
