Afternoon Thunderstorm

A clap of thunder split the sky, and large raindrops began to fall rapidly, hitting the eaves and windows, creating a dense drumming sound. The once noisy city was enveloped by the rain curtain. The rain was fierce, but it passed just as suddenly. Before long, the dark clouds gradually dispersed, and sunlight began to stream down again through the gaps in the clouds, adding a fresh scent to the humid air. The afternoon thunderstorm was like the sky's brief but intense emotions, coming and going quickly.
