Indigenous Mythology
Daily Mythology | Tsou: The Giant Serpent and the Flood Long ago, the ancestors of the Tsou people lived on a mountain. One day, the villagers discovered a giant serpent in the mountains. It coiled between the valleys, its massive body instilling fear. The villagers tried every method to drive it away, but they were never successful. Later, the giant serpent suddenly opened its mouth and spewed out a massive flood. The flood quickly submerged the land, and the villagers fled to higher ground. The water rose higher and higher, until it seemed the entire world was swallowed by the flood. Only a few people escaped to the high mountains and survived. After the flood receded, they returned to the land to live and became the ancestors of the later Tsou people. And so, the story of the giant serpent was passed down.

The giant serpent that occupies the valley, is it a symbol of destruction in your eyes, or a necessary baptism for rebirth? Perhaps this flood is precisely to wash away the dust after the rise and fall of civilization, hehe.
