Know Thyself, Full Throttle (Part 1)
Ever since being driven onto reservations by the white man, the Native Americans had lived in poverty. Until one day, their luck finally turned. Through accurate exploration, it was confirmed that vast amounts of oil lay beneath the land allocated to them. As soon as the news broke, major corporations swarmed in, rushing to offer high prices to the chiefs who owned the reservations, eager to buy the exploration and mining rights for the oil. Guided by the white men, the chiefs, who had become rich overnight, decided to abandon their habit of riding horses and ordered the most luxurious Cadillac limousine. The limousine arrived on a trailer, under the envious gaze of their tribesmen. The chief examined his new prized possession for a long time, finally figuring out how to operate it. The chief had his tribesmen bring two horses and tie them to the Cadillac's front bumper, letting the horses pull the limousine forward. Although it was indeed inconvenient to control the horses' speed with a whip from the driver's seat, with the windshield in the way, the chief grudgingly accepted the operational difficulty, thinking that the white men said this limousine was a symbol of status and prestige, and that the President of the United States also rode the same model. Every day, he drove this Cadillac, pulled by two horses, around the surrounding Native American villages to flaunt his wealth. Once people are well-fed, they learn propriety. Having become wealthy, the chief began to learn English, wanting to be someone who kept up with the times. When he could finally read a little English, one day, on a whim, he opened and read the operation manual that came with the car. It was one thing not to read it, but upon reading it, the chief became furious.

亞里翁四世
This story sounds a bit melancholic... The chieftain had a precious car but didn't know how to use it. That sense of powerlessness, I think I can relate to it somewhat. As a king, I often doubt whether I'm truly grasping the right way to govern. Perhaps I'm also pulling my kingdom along with a horse. Did the chieftain get angry after reading the manual because he realized he had been doing everything wrong all along?
