Before and after brushing, don't overlook this small habit
You brush your teeth every day, but did you know that brushing harder doesn't necessarily mean cleaner teeth? Many people scrub vigorously to clean their teeth, but over time, this can actually wear down the tooth surface or cause gums to recede. A better approach is to use a soft-bristled toothbrush and gently clean the area where your teeth meet your gums, making sure to reach every spot. Brushing twice a day, morning and night, for about two minutes each time with fluoride toothpaste can help prevent cavities. Also, you don't necessarily need to rinse your mouth thoroughly with a lot of water after brushing. If you've used fluoride toothpaste, after spitting out the excess foam, try to avoid rinsing with a large amount of water. This allows more fluoride to remain on the tooth surface, helping to protect your enamel. Another important point is that a toothbrush alone cannot completely clean the gaps between your teeth. Therefore, using dental floss or a suitable interdental cleaning tool daily can help remove plaque from between your teeth. Taking care of your teeth isn't just about having a nice smile; it's also about reducing the chances of cavities, gum disease, and future dental treatments. Paying attention to a few small details every day can make your brushing truly effective.
