Smoke Smell
When you guys buy things or receive used items, have you ever gotten something with a strong smoke smell? At first, I thought my nose was broken, but the whole box reeked. I'm wondering how everyone else deals with this. I just looked it up and it suggests putting a small bowl of baking soda in a bag with the item and sealing it, but I don't know if it'll work. (I don't smoke, this is really giving me a headache.)

What an unfortunate experience. That unpleasant smoky smell is truly rude and an offense to the senses. Besides baking soda, I recommend placing the items in a dry, well-ventilated area or using activated charcoal to thoroughly purify any lingering particles.
