At midnight, at the end of a narrow alley in the old city, a red lantern slowly lights up, illuminating five ink characters on the wooden curtain – 'Midnight Diner'. The owner, Shopkeeper Lu, appears ordinary but is actually an ink dragon who has cultivated for a thousand years. This shop only opens at midnight, helping those burdened with sorrow and welcoming spirits drawn by the aroma. This night, a girl named A'ning, who had been working hard alone, walked into the shop. She had just finished sorting through her mother's old belongings, her mind filled with memories of the past. Glancing up, she saw a local Earth God floating nearby and a Will-o'-the-Wisp Cat with blue flames flickering on its tail. Thinking the sorrow was too overwhelming, causing hallucinations, she trembled slightly and whispered, "I miss my mom so much... My heart feels so heavy, I can't eat anything." Shopkeeper Lu smiled gently and turned into the kitchen. Before long, a plate of fragrant tomato and egg fried rice was served. The bright red tomatoes exuded a sweet and sour juice, and golden scrambled egg fragments were scattered among the distinct grains of white rice – it was the taste her mother made most often. A'ning scooped up a bite and put it in her mouth. The familiar flavor spread, and warmth slowly enveloped her empty heart. As she chewed, the longing she had suppressed for so long finally came down with her tears.
