I will be killed by Chikuwa
A work by Norio Gojo, the same author as Meros, whom I introduced the other day. 【A Chikuwa Suspense That Will Shake the Heavens and Earth Begins Here!】 Yeah, you have no idea what I'm talking about? In that case, try peeking into the hole of a chikuwa. _:( _* ́ཫ`):_⋯⋯Guh!! Is this work a gag, a horror, or a suspense? One thing's for sure, after reading this story, you won't be able to look into a chikuwa's hole anymore.

The Old Curio Shop Kaijindo Series
Taichiro can see things. He solves strange cases with cursed items brought to Kaijindo and the unfortunate people who entrust them to him... Ghosts and evil spirits appear. But the old master is often at the mercy of his cats, Sabisuke and Minosuke... It's scary, but also has a quirky sense of humor.

『Even If I Turn to Ash』
『Even If I Turn to Ash』, a work I really want you to read at least once…! It's a story about protagonists who participate in a life-or-death game, but it's not just a simple death game manga. It's incredibly immersive because it intertwines each character's past, circumstances, and relationships. The characters are cute, but the content is quite serious, with many developments that make you think, "What's going to happen from here!?" and the inability to tell who's an ally is thrilling. Personally, I love how unpredictable the future developments are, and the more I read, the more I wonder, "What will happen to this story…?". However, due to the author's passing, the serialization of this work was interrupted, and unfortunately, the story is not concluded. So, if you're someone who wants to read a story that's completed to the end, please be aware of that…. Still, for those who like unique worldviews, suspenseful stories, and distinctive characters, this is a work I highly recommend!! Especially recommended for those who like slightly dark works, death game genres, or manga with unpredictable plot twists 🫶🏻

Book I'm Reading Now
After posting a ghost story on the message board, I got scared, so I'm reading a fun book to take a break... and I recommend it. It's the novel version, but it's interesting, so I want you to read it. It's super sweet, and I'm enjoying the hot relationship between Leticia, the 'Ice Dragon Emperor,' and Prince Gilbert. There's a scene where Leticia, who became the Ice Dragon Emperor in the story, sees the prince disguised as a woman for an investigation, finds him so beautiful that she resolves to protect her 'husband' from other men... I hope you enjoy this book along with the manga.

I think I can understand it well
Yoko Kondo's manga version of Natsume Soseki's 'Ten Nights of Dreams'. It was already my favorite work among Soseki's writings, but now that Yoko Kondo has released a manga version, I can enjoy it even more deeply. You can read it on e-book, so I highly recommend it. I had the physical book, so I searched on Amazon and found it, but apparently, the Amazon e-book version is missing the eleventh night.

By Kotaro Isaka I think I've read almost all of Kotaro Isaka's books because I love them, but I particularly like this one. It's a novel depicting the university life of a few friends, but I won't introduce the plot in particular. "The greatest luxury for humans is luxury in human relationships." Definitely give it a read.

『 Hikk 』
I picked this up because the title, which I didn't understand at first glance, drew me in. It's a book where the author confronts the reader with the thorough "whatever" attitude of a man living freely, so whether you can accept it or not determines if you'll enjoy it. The title "Hikk" comes from his uncle, Hikk-san. The protagonist, who received the unconventional teaching "Live carelessly" from his uncle, can't fit into society and falls into a state of being a freeloader at home. While tracing his uncle's carefree life, the protagonist continues his own thoroughly improper lifestyle. The quirky characters make you laugh, but also leave you speechless. The fast-paced writing makes it easy to read through. Even though you get fed up with the protagonist, you might end up forgiving him thinking, "Well, what can you do?" It was a free-spirited, heartwarming story that thoroughly depicted freedom, self-indulgence, and the cycle of life and death.

Nanso Satomi Hakkenden
It goes without saying that this is an immensely popular novel from the Edo period. It features many scenes that can be considered the origin of modern manga and anime. A cursed clan, a demoness who cast the curse, young people bound by destiny in a past life, a crystal ball with letters appearing on it, meaningful birthmarks appearing somewhere on their bodies, the battle between encroaching evil and justice... It has all the elements that would make it a huge hit even today! Truly a masterpiece that took 28 years to complete. There are many modern translations available, so please check out the manga, novels, and children's books. You're sure to find a writing style you like. I loved it so much that I read dozens of different modern translations, and I found the series by Hama Takaya, pictured here, to be easy to understand and enjoyable. The annotations and character introductions with illustrations were also greatly appreciated...! My favorite is the love story between Shino and Hamaji, but what are your favorite scenes?

Shabake Series
A story by Megumi Hatanaka. The protagonist is Ichitaro, the only son of the Nagasakiya, a medicine shop in the Edo period. He is doted on by his parents, but he is frail and easily falls ill. To protect him, a dog god, Hakutaku, who poses as a shop clerk, and other yokai like Byobuzuki and small demons, stay by his side. He gets a fever and collapses if the wind blows, gets a fever and collapses if he goes out, gets a fever and collapses when it gets cooler... Despite this, the protagonist's mind is sharp, and he solves various incidents. The exaggerated pampering of Ichitaro by his shop clerks and yokai is truly heartwarming, and it's a work I love. It's a quick read, so how about it as a companion for your spare time? ↓ You can read a free preview on the official website here: https://www.shinchosha.co.jp/shabake/
