Differences in Manga and Anime Art Styles ④ Second Work
Anime: 'The Iceblade Sorcerer Shall Rule the World' The protagonist, Ray White, is known as the 'Iceblade Sorcerer,' the strongest in the world. However, he hides his true identity and enrolls in an elite magic academy as the only student from a common background. Ray carries deep trauma (PTSD) from a brutal past war (the Far East Campaign). While seemingly a bright school-life story, the protagonist harbors the heavy shadow of a 'war-weary veteran.' Despite possessing immense power, his true wish is to 'live a normal student life and make friends.' The stark contrast between his wholesome enjoyment of school life and his covert activities as a skilled sorcerer is a major appeal. Through warm interactions with unique friends he meets at the academy, such as Amelia and Elisa, you can also enjoy this as a human drama where Ray gradually regains his humanity and finds salvation.

Differences in Manga and Anime Artstyles ② First Work
Anime 'Solo Leveling' This is a fantasy work about a protagonist who time-leaps from a future facing the fate of destruction to his past school days, striving to avoid tragedy. The setting is that if they don't clear (conquer) the 'Shadow World,' an alternate dimension where past historical tragedies are recreated, the real world will be destroyed. The protagonist, Desir, has average magical power (lower class) by birth, but possesses the unique talent to instantly analyze magical structures and 'counter them through reverse calculation.' The greatest appeal lies in the strategic battles where he uses his intellect, calculations, and knowledge of the future to overcome powerful enemy magic, rather than relying on overwhelming cheat-like strength.

Differences in Art Style Between Manga and Anime ①
There have been several works where the art style differs between the manga and anime adaptations since way back when. What are your thoughts on this? Personally, I welcome it because the anime's art style is often superior to the manga's, making it much easier to watch. However, some people do want the anime to be made with the manga's original art style, right? I'll be posting a couple of related things, but there are two such works this fall anime season with differences in art style between the anime and manga, so I'll introduce them. If you have time, please compare them.

A Work That Ruins the Future of Manga
"I myself have no power, but with the skill 'Ruler,' I become the strongest. Who cares if the traitors who betrayed me fall into ruin!" The story is about a protagonist who receives the unknown skill 'Ruler,' is kicked out of a party that treated him coldly, and then awakens his skill. As the 'Ruler of Demons,' he embarks on a refreshing rise-to-power story with a 'revenge' theme. When I first started reading, I thought it was an interesting revenge story, but then I noticed parts that looked like copy-pasting within panels, characters starting to use strange expressions (like female characters speaking like men), and character expressions not matching the scenes. I started to wonder, 'Was this made by AI?' and as I continued reading, the inconsistencies made me uncomfortable. I wonder if the original author thinks this is good? I wonder if this is a good future for manga culture? (Free on BicCom) I've included a link, so please experience it for yourself out of morbid curiosity.

A Manga I'm Debating Whether to Recommend (lol)
The protagonist, Yuto (Yuto Nakatani), is granted what seems like a useless, unfortunate skill: [Absorption]. However, it turns out to be the ultimate cheat skill that allows him to 'steal opponents' abilities and skills to make them his own.' This is a 'rags-to-riches' story where the protagonist, pushed to the bottom and trampled upon, explosively grows by absorbing enemy powers one after another, overwhelming formidable foes. It takes a completely opposite route from the typical 'hero defeats the demon lord' narrative. After being abandoned by his classmates, Yuto is saved by the demon lord's daughter, Melia. He then resolves to fight on the 'demon side,' turning against the cruel empire that summoned them and his former classmates who abandoned him. The relentless desire for revenge and the dark worldview from an unconventional perspective are major draws. However, while the story and development are interesting, personally, I feel the author's art skills haven't improved, and they might have learned to cut corners by drawing sloppily. There are also many characters, so distinguishing them (personally) is difficult. I'm debating whether to recommend it (lol)

Perhaps Taboo
I've watched a wide range of manga and anime, from shonen to seinen, including isekai, battle, and slice-of-life genres. While there are many stories where middle-aged men are depicted as they are, I haven't seen any isekai or battle series where middle-aged women are portrayed as they are. They are either rejuvenated or depicted as beautiful and youthful despite being middle-aged. If you know of any works that feature middle-aged women as they are, please let me know.

Highly Recommended Manga
"I Gained Cheat Abilities, but I Can't Seem to Get Rid of My Unemployed Status" In an RPG-like world, 'Unemployed' is usually considered an unfortunate class. However, in this work, it functions as the ultimate hidden feature, 'unaffected by any equipment or skill restrictions of other jobs.' When combined with extraordinary 'growth cheats (e.g., hundreds of times experience points),' it creates an overwhelmingly powerful, versatile character who can wield swords, magic, and anything else, making the process of their creation incredibly thrilling. There's little gritty training or heavy setbacks; the protagonist defeats strong enemies and resolves troubles one after another with astonishing speed. You can fully enjoy the 'satisfying feeling after reading' characteristic of fantasy works, where the protagonist confidently thrives with their unique strengths. The interactions with the heroines surrounding the protagonist are also a major highlight. The heartwarming, comically lighthearted relationships that develop as they help the heroines with their overwhelming power or take on guild quests together serve as a great spice to the story. Of course, harem elements are also abundant. The novel is complete, but the comic is a long-selling series that has reached volume 32 (to be continued). It's strange it hasn't been animated...

I'm not a lolicon (lol)
Recommended Manga "The Reincarnated Young Lady Won't Give Up" Looking back at what I've introduced, people might misunderstand, but I just like isekai reincarnation stories... (lol) The protagonist, Riria (Ria), in her past life was an experienced adult woman who lived a full life surrounded by a loving family. Her appearance is that of an adorable baby who crawls and toddles, but her inner monologue is incredibly calm and detached. This imbalance between her "cute appearance" and "mature mindset" creates unique humor even in serious situations. Monsters called "Kizoku" exist, capable of stealing life with a mere touch, and the Four Dukes' house, Allbance, where Ria is born, bears the harsh fate of being bound to their territory forever to maintain the barrier protecting the country. There are many intense developments involving life-threatening situations like political conspiracies and kidnappings, and the fantasy setting is very solidly crafted. The balance between the gripping battles and mystery-solving elements, and the heartwarming daily life parts featuring Ria's adorable gestures is exquisite. This work is especially recommended for those seeking an immersive isekai fantasy with intricate plot threads.

How to Enjoy Manga and Anime
I don't read the original novels, but I enjoy manga (tankobon) and then wait for anime adaptations of interesting works. For older series like Dragon Ball and Slam Dunk, or even One Piece which is still ongoing, anime adaptations of works without original novels can never surpass the manga. For Dragon Ball, battle scenes that were about 5 pages in the manga would often last for about 2 hours (lol). However, with recent anime adaptations originating from original novels and then becoming comics, there are more and more works where the anime easily gets ahead of the tankobon (though it seems they don't surpass magazine serialization). My current favorite manga is 'That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime,' and the anime has already progressed past volume 33... So, I haven't even taken volume 33 out of its plastic wrap yet (lol).
